OK, I think I see the issue here. I think most of us are looking at this as a lunch box version (meaning that it encompasses all the different versions of a character), not a specific version. For me, this is because I don't see C3G doing multiple versions of Splinter. I mean look at the current ranks. How many iconic characters have only one version? Many! I think in shooting for a specific version from a specific medium, you may very well be capturing the Character you know and love, but not necessarily what others are envisioning. I could be wrong, but I imagine that since it took about 6 years to get the Turtles made, most of the Heroes are looking at these as lunchbox, catch-all versions of the TMNT characters.
