Official Miniature Requirement Guidelines for C3G

As C3G expands farther and farther out beyond the initial Marvel and DC dominated comic book worlds, finding suitable miniature options has become more of a challenge and custom made miniatures have thus become more prevalent. This has caused us to reevaluate our guidelines for C3G approved miniatures. These are the updated official guidelines:

1. Plastic Miniatures that already come painted upon purchase will always be our first preference, the vast majority of the current C3G minis fall into this category and we would prefer to maintain the same aesthetic whenever possible. Many current C3G designs use custom made figures constructed using different parts from plastic miniatures that started out already painted, these custom figures then usually require some additional painting, and as such these are also still allowed as part of this first group of preferred options.

2. When a plastic and/or painted miniature option is not available, both metal and unpainted miniatures will be considered on a case by case basis. The potential LD of any design that would require such a miniature will need to make an official request.

3. Bear in mind that should an unpainted and/or metal miniature option be approved, the LD or another C3G member will be required to supply fully painted miniature pictures for the cards before the LD can start the design thread. This requirement is also being extended to the previous all painted plastic custom constructed miniatures. This new requirement ensures that the required miniature pictures for the Art department's card needs will be available to complete the design should the design thread be started by one LD and later finished by different LD.
