i use Autodesk Inventor 11 during school. At home i use Alibre Design. Alibre
Design is free inventor is $200+. Later this year my class is getting a rapid prototyping machine or a 3d printer, whatever ya wanna call it. I'll be able to print out my models in plastic then paint them.
