The longer it takes me to get to these reports the shorter they get… So this one will be pretty short in the battle section. Not terrible as I enjoy doing shorter reports occasionally.
Idaho NHSD - Reverse-the-Whip 600
I’m a big fan of Reverse-the-Whip, and I had a lot of fun army ideas for this one that would give those Idahoans headaches.
Some of my favorites were:
Blade Gruts x3
Grimnak
Hrognak
Nerak
Sgt. Drake 2.0
James Murphy
(I actually almost went with this one, but didn’t want to have to fight Sgt. Drake)
Venoc Warlord
Mohican River Tribe x3
Brave Arrow
Zetacron
Maltis Tez
Raelin
Theracus
Raelin
Taelord
Warden 816
Blastatrons x4
Raelin
Taelord
Sgt. Drake 2.0
Deathreavers x4
(Still really want to do a Rae/Tae/Rat army sometime)
But in the end, I went with a variant of an Axegrinder/Rogue army I had been playing a lot at the time (due to play testing Kha for SoV). I just added stuff to make it 600 points.
BiggaBullfrog’s Army:
Raelin RotV 80
Eltahale 140
Darrak Ambershard 60
Axegrinders of the Burning Forge x2 70 (140)
Nottingham Brigand x3 35 (105)
Phantom Knights x1 70
595 Points/16 Figures
The base was the Axegrinders, Darrak, Brigands, and Raelin. Having two squads to bond with Darrak is fun, especially for a RtW army. I figured my holes were a Special Attack and some anti-range, so I popped in Eltahale and a squad of PK’s and was ready to mash some potatoes!! (Because Idaho…)

Deathcommander Mark 3 130
Executioner 616 115
Beorn Boltcutter 50
Zettian Infantry x3 65 (195)
Deathreavers x2 40 (80)
This was one of those games where everything went my way and nothing went my opponent’s way. His Deathreavers were annoying, but Eltahale was able to make fairly quick work of them once they got in too close. Even before then, the Brigands have disengage which meant I could take shots as I pleased, drawing Dreamscaper’s units in to me. His army didn’t have long enough range to comfortably snipe Raelin, and with her defense bonus my units held well and would obviously win a battle of attrition. At the end he tried a Hail Mary Executioner 616 self destruct, but whiffed it, and my dwarves finished off DCM3, effectively winning me the game.

Reverse-the-Whip - We play each other’s armies
This game also became very attrition-y as I set up an elf pod. Sir Heroscape’s sister was able to snag a defense glyph which helped her immensely, especially with Raelin already powering her army. Knowing I wouldn’t win a full out assault, I kept my pod with Haduc in the middle, using his incredibly annoying power to give auto shields to the elves. In the end time was called while we both still had the majority of our armies. On my last turn I sent Haduc to kill a Brigand that was outside of Raelin’s aura which would give me the points for the win. What a time to blank an attack roll…

Lady Heroscape
Su-Bak-Na
Tul-Bak-Ra
Me-Burq-Sa
Marro Dividers x5
Raelin-backed Dwarves with Darrak earned their keep this game. Tul-Bak-Ra tried some fancy tricks to hit me early and bring up reinforcements, but with 4 5 figures attacking him I was able to keep him from teleporting many, if any, Dividers. Once TBR fell I was also able to use my squad numbers to limit potential dividing areas, so even if a divider made its roll and survived an attack it couldn’t bring back another figure. Eventually the dwarves were whittled down but they had taken most of the Dividers with them, and Brigands cleaned up the rest of the Dividers while Eltahale took down the Marro dragon and horsey.

Mohican River Tribe x5
Reverse-the-Whip - We play each other’s armies
A Venoc Warlord+Scouts build had been one of the armies I considered bringing, so it was fun to play one here, though it was more streamlined than my version. Fast Mohicans were able to give me the map control to keep Axegrinders from taking any glyphs, and I hid Raelin behind my ruin to help solidify my central position. Eltahale came swinging in, but Sir H had misremembered her Thunder Ram power and I was able to surround her with Mohicans to keep her from getting it often. Raelin was also perfectly hidden behind the ruin to keep Eltahale from Thunder Stepping to her, and the Mohicans with Brave Arrow wore her down. There was then a Raelin-backed push from Dwarves and Phantom Knights through the center, but I whittled them down and eventually killed Raelin. In the end it came down to a final squad-ish of Mohicans ignoring Darrak, killing Brigands in the start zone to lessen their effectiveness right before Sir H wanted to switch to them, and then cleaning up the remaining Brigand and dwarves for the win.

TREX
Gothlok
Ogre Warhulk
Me-Burq-Sa
Nerak
Death Chasers of Thesk x4
I was pretty confident in this game going in, as the divide in the middle of the map meant that as long as I could establish a position on one side I could shoot across the gap and make TREX’s army come to me, taking good height shots against his low defense army. Then it turned out that the Defense glyph was on the side that I wasn’t on, and I lost hope. That extra defense let TREX’s Me-Burq-Sa and Gothlok live longer than expected and kept pot shots against Death Chasers from going through, and I couldn’t get enough damage on either of them before being swarmed by Death Chasers. Death Chasers alone would have been okay, or even with one of those heroes would have been possibly manageable, but the extra hero support of range and -1 defense tore apart my army.
