I am at last all caught up.
Spoiler Alert!
I must confess that like Dan I am very interested to see what happens once escape occurs (which I imagine will be the ending of Part 1). The current part exploring Dan's sociopathic mentality I do enjoy though as I like inner thoughts and reasoning on behalf of a character (or the author's explanation of it). Reminds me of Brandis.
It ain't easy writing a story taking place almost exclusively in a tiny space, and good characterization is often the cure. And since I recall preferring most of the side-characters to Dan in
Quest
, my enjoyment of this version is a good thing.
