not all questions are meant to be answered in the most obvious way. I posed that question to hear what Dad Scaper thinks of the subject, to gather his thoughts and to hopefully add his commentary. That's what makes a good interview.
Also, the question was specifically phrased to ask if it is "too daunting" not if it is impossible. Judging by the time it takes for one design to get through the process and when considering the challenge a new designer would face when creating their first custom, I believe it's a reasonable thought.
