Re: Welcome to C3G! – Directory
ANNOUNCEMENT:
As is tradition, we've made a few changes to released designs following the annual C3G Con, as we discovered unintended interactions, overpowered combos, etc. I'll go into those changes in detail below.
1. Terminator Guardian
Spoiler Alert!
There was an exploit where if the Terminator's Charge is someone who can replace his turn (such as Baron Heinrich Zemo) then you can get around the no attack restriction. Since Terminator doesn't have no additional turns language, in theory you could do something like make Professor X his charge and add his turn on to a double Mutant turn in which all three figures attack. This was not an intended interaction.
Quote:
PROTECTION PROGRAMMING
At the start of the game, you must choose a small or medium Unique Hero you control without the Super Strength or Flying special powers to be Terminator's Charge. After a numbered Order Marker is revealed on the Charge's card, before taking a turn with the Charge you may take a turn with Terminator. If you do, you may not attack with any other figures this turn. If its Charge is on the battlefield, Terminator may only attack figures within 6 spaces of its Charge. Figures engaged with Terminator may not roll for leaving engagement attacks.

2. Biollante
Spoiler Alert!
Biollante's update was to try to limit the feel bads of not being able to move on your turn at all by giving the other player more agency when Biollante's vines are grasping.
Quote:
GRASPING PLANT TENDRILS
At the start of each player’s turn, you may choose up to 2 figures within 12 spaces of Biollante. Roll one unblockable attack die against each chosen figure. If you roll a shield, the player controlling the chosen figure must choose for that figure to either receive a wound or it may not move until the start of the next player’s turn.

3. Pinhead
Spoiler Alert!
This is a theme update. Pinhead resurrects based on spilt blood, cheesing it by destroying trees etc. is silly.
Quote:
HELLRAISER
When a Unique Slasher Hero in your army is destroyed, begin your next turn with a total amount of Wound Markers on that Slasher's card equal to their Life number. Each time a figure within 4 spaces of Pinhead receives one or more wounds, if it is not an Android, destructible object, or Construct, remove a Wound Marker from the card of a destroyed Unique Slasher Hero in your army. When the last Wound Marker is removed, you may immediately place that Slasher on a space adjacent to Pinhead.

4. Animated Vines
Spoiler Alert!
Animated Vines don't take leaving engagement attacks when being placed with their power now, as that was always the intent, it was just missed in wording
Quote:
CHLOROKINETIC MOVEMENT
Once per player turn, before taking a turn with a figure you control that has the Plant Animation special power, you may place up to 3 Animated Vine figures you control on empty spaces within 3 spaces of their original placements during which they do not take any leaving engagement attacks. Animated Vines cannot move or be moved in any way except by this special power.

5. Emil Hamilton
Spoiler Alert!
Emil Hamilton is getting two updates. One is to more fully tie him to his intended faction so he's not a major Zod/Super-Pets piece and another is to reduce the effectiveness of his Countermeasure power, which was proving to be a bit too much of a shut down for a figure at his cost.
Quote:
ADVANCED SCIENCE SUPPORT
At the start of the game, place up to two Invention Equipment Glyphs of different types into a Glyph Pool, power-side up, and set them aside. Before moving normally with a Unique Kryptonian Champion Hero, if it is adjacent to Emil Hamilton, you may place a glyph from his Glyph Pool on its card. If it is not adjacent to Hamilton, you may reveal an "X" Order Marker on that card to place a glyph from his Glyph Pool on its card.
COUNTERMEASURE DEVELOPMENT
At the start of the game, choose an opponent’s figure to be Emil Hamilton’s Subject. Once per game at the start of any turn, you may choose for all special powers on his Subject's card to be negated until the end of that player turn or when the figure would receive enough wounds to be destroyed.

6. Captain Marvel (Billy Batson)
Spoiler Alert!
This is part of the Mary Marvel tweaks to get the Shazamily working as a faction.
Add the power tag:
Quote:
SHAZAM!: WISDOM OF SOLOMON
After an opponent reveals an Order Marker and before that opponent takes a turn, you may choose 1 unrevealed Order Marker on this card and place it on any other Army Card you control, or choose 1 unrevealed Order Marker on any other Army Card you control and place it on this card.
|
We’re also talking over a small tweak to Billy Batson (the civilian), but we’re going to do some sanity testing with him first!
7. Selene Gallio
Spoiler Alert!
Selene is just a beast, so she's getting depowered a bit. Her healing is going to be less reliable and she's not going to be as good at destroying vehicle pilots from the outside. She'll still be able to do both, just less reliably.
Quote:
PSYCHIC VAMPIRE
Subtract 1 from Selene’s Move and Attack numbers for each Wound Marker on this card. After moving and instead of attacking, you may choose an adjacent figure that is not an Android, Cyborg, or destructible object. Roll 2 combat dice. If you roll a skull on every die, remove up to that many Wound Markers from this card and place them on the chosen figure’s card.
INANIMATE OBJECT CONTROL 9
Instead of attacking, you may choose a destructible object, Fortress Wall, or obstacle within 5 spaces of Selene and up to 9 figures on or within 2 spaces of that destructible object, Fortress Wall, or obstacle. Roll the 20-sided die for each figure, subtracting 5 from the roll if Selene does not have clear sight on the chosen figure. If you roll 9 or higher, that figure receives a wound.

8. Dee Jay
Spoiler Alert!
When Cammy was being designed, we discussed simplifying Dee Jay to make his class-changing powers less restrictive. Now he’ll more easily work in Enforcer & Fighter builds.
Quote:
SHADALOO BRAINWASHING
If you control at least one Unique Dictator or Enforcer Hero, Deejay has the class of Enforcer instead of what is listed on this card.
FIGHTER INFLUENCE
If you control at least one Unique Fighter Hero, Dee Jay has the class of Fighter in addition to what is listed on this card.

Card updates for all these should be forthcoming as our Art team get to them. Let us know if you have any questions!
