I am operating on third party information as to the exact team ups, so I don't mind holding to get actual examples from comic book authorities. All I can find in Wikipedia summaries is that he definitely teamed up with Kal-L and fought Kal-El.

I do think it's justified based on the idea that he shares an identity with Superman (Kal-El) and that his stories are primarily in the same universe as that Kal-El, meaning at worst this would be a Batman/Joker type team up situation (they're very clearly different people).
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
