Re: The Book of Mole Machine: Design

Right now the big thing to decide is the number of spaces this thing will occupy. Here are the pros and cons of each (pictures in the OP to go by):
3 spaces: Pros: more manuverability with the drill being able to hang off of overhangs and what not. Cons: Major "Stinger denial" issues with the drill part of the figure being all but unattackable by melee figures since figures could be adjacent to it without being adjacent to any of the spaces the Mole Machine occupies.

4 spaces: Pros: Perfect for 4 occupancy for the Fantastic 4 who might have created one of these to explore Subterranea. Cons: Still some stinger denial issues, but not as bad as some shorter figures can actually fit under the tip of the drill if that space is the same level as the rest of the Mole Machine. (see Magma in the 3 pic in the OP)

5 spaces: Pros: No denial issues and possibly an occupancy of 5 to allow Mole Man to bring more Moloids along for the ride. Cons: Much harder to place on a map with it needing 5 same-level spaces in a straight line.

I personally am leaning towards 4 spaces, but I would love to hear each of you guy's opinions on the matter. We'll just need to decide the occupancy based on the number of spaces we choose for the Mole Machine to occupy.
