Mister Fantastic ties down Green Lantern and Green Arrow and hits Green Arrow for a wound. Hawkwoman KO’s Wasp and Wonder Woman reclaims a JL Marker. Thing engages Hawkwoman and clobbers her for two wounds. Human Torch has his attack on Hawkwoman from height blocked. Mister Fantastic takes a wound from Green Shield Strike. Hawkwoman takes a swipe from Thing and hits Invisible Woman for one wound, recharging Green Lantern. Green Arrow sheds a marker, but can’t touch Mister Fantastic.
Round 3: Wonder Woman sheds a marker. Initiative Fantastic Four. Thing avoids a swipe and engages Hawkwoman for a big clobbering. He hits her for one wound, then she tries to slip away from the double attack, but a swipe takes her out. Mister Fantastic takes a Green Shield Strike. Hawkwoman had OM1. Human Torch engages Green Arrow and Green Arrow blocks the hit. Thing Clobbers Green Arrow to bits. Green Lantern can’t hit Mister Fantastic. Thing clobbers Green Lantern for three wounds. Mister Fantastic takes a wound from Green Shield Strike. Green Lantern can’t heal from Alfred or hit Mister Fantastic.
Round 4: Wonder Woman sheds her last JL Marker. Initiative Justice League. Alfred engages Invisible Woman, but can’t take her out. Human Torch flames on to KO Green Lantern and Thing clobbers Alfred. Green Lantern had OM2. Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman advance. Wonder Woman advances. Thing and Mister Fantastic advance.
Round 5: Initiative Fantastic Four. Human Torch and Invisible Woman advance. Mister Fantastic wraps up Wonder Woman and she blocks his attack. Wonder Woman can’t hit back. Thing advances. Mister Fantastic hits Wonder Woman for a wound. Wonder Woman can’t hit back. Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Thing, and Mister Fantastic combine to put three wounds on Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman can’t hit Mister Fantastic.
Round 6: Initiative Wonder Woman. She hits Mister Fantastic for a wound. Thing clobbers Wonder Woman to end it.
Unit Summary: Aerial Assault definitely felt much more in check here. She had some opportunities to use it, things just didn’t quite break her way. It’s no longer the overpowering or defining power on the card, which is a win. I don’t think the point bump was at all needed given these changes, though. The Rally power is nice, but Hawkwoman often has to expose herself to try to use it and that comes at the cost of falling early as she did here.
I do think this one was more balanced than the results show. This is one of those games where the opponent got aggressive to try to take out Invisible Woman and when they couldn’t close the deal, they paid for it with a fully Clobbering Thing for the rest of the game. Had Hawkwoman managed to put two wounds on Invisible Woman instead of one when she attacked, the entire game could’ve swung on that momentum.
