The Hunger Games: Cover Speculation
I plan on bumping this thread as often as a can with any kind of information/speculation until Mockingjay comes out. I mean I need to do something until then. 
Examination of the Covers
Spoiler Alert!
Hunger Games: On the cover of this book, you'll see what is supposedly a Mockingjay. Notice that the Mockingjay is a little blurry and hard to make out. It's wings seem to be at rest and it is enclosed by a solid circle. The cover is dark black which could represent the lack of freedom in Panem.
Catching Fire: On the cover of Catching Fire, you'll notice that the Mockingjay is still here. Howwever, it seems a lot more vivid than on the cover of the Hunger Games. Here, you can notice the feathers on the bird, for example. Also notice that now the bird's wings seem to be spread, as if taking off into flight. If you look at the circle surround it, it looks like something is happening to it - perhaps, being broken open. The circle also resembles a clock (like the arena does) as well as a Scope (as if the government is hunting the mockingjay). The cover is bright orange which could represent rebellion.
Mockingjay: Surprise, surprise, the bird remains on the cover of the third book yet again. It is an incredibly vivid picture with a lot of detail. It's wings are completely spread, and it appears that it's taken full flight. This time, however, it is completely free. No circle surrounds the bird, although you can see remnants of what may have been a circle in the background. The cover is bright blue which could represent freedom.
