Battle Report:
Spoiler Alert!
Round 1:
Ranjit buffs Krav, Marros, and B-11 in that order.
Goblins roll out with a Bugbear Basher.
3 Goblins, 1 Marro, and 1 B-11 died.
Ranjit's attack buff helped secure kills on goblins this round and was even more crucial in later rounds.
Round 2:
Ranjit buffs Krav, B-11, and Syvarris in that order.
Goblins hard engage with a Bugbear, killing 2 more Marros and the first Krav.
Ranjit's Rangers killed the Bugbear that was engaged as well as 2 more Goblins. The bonus attack was really nice, rolling 5 from height very often.
Round 3:
Same Ranjit buffs as before.
The last Marro dies as well as 1 more krav and 1 more B-11.
This made my OMs for the rest of the game very ineffective.
On the flip side, Koggo and 9 more Slashers died.
Round 4:
Syvarris gets all of the OMs, killing 3 slashers, putting the other Bugbear on 1 life remaining, but goes down to 1 life himself.
The rest of the rounds were the Goblins cleaning up the game. Ranjit had already taken 3 wounds due to Wannok.
Powers:
Spoiler Alert!
Ranjit:
This army leans into Lion of Punjab pretty hard, to the extent of having another ranged option rather than a screen of rats. The +1 attack and +1 move was really important in securing high ground in a few cases and being able to consistently roll around 3 attacks of 4-5 each turn. This was obviously rather irrelevant when each squad lost a figure or two.
Diplomatic Subterfuge missed on the Goblins once, although the game was over even if it would have connected. I did play in a way where Ranjit was not taking OMs all game.
Goblin Slashers:
The bonding of their retreat power was used 3 turns a round. The condition of not having any goblin slashers engaged in order to bond was never an issue for Kinseth. This was an interesting matchup because it plays out much differently compared to against melee squads. This power doesn't seem too overpowered especially considering their attack isn't scary and they die easily.
Scale wasn't used to my knowledge. I can't think of a point on the map where it could even come into play.
Koggo:
Koggo took two attacks, dying on the second. I suspect this will be the average Koggo experience. Clear shot was used once or twice, maybe making a difference on one occassion. Cower happened once, not letting me attack Koggo twice in one turn, but there were other targets anyway. In a different matchup, these powers would probably help Koggo be more effective, but this game he took two attacks and maybe dealt one wound.
Bugbear Bashers:
Bash happened several attacks on the last B-11, but poor rolling by Kinseth meant the last Bugbear was tied down for longer than expected.
The Bugbears killed a couple of Slashers with Expendable Rabble. This power helped them live longer than I would've hoped which is important because they have a better attack than their squadie friends.
Their melee attack aura didn't really come into play much this game. I suspect it could've been used more in this game, but it didn't end up mattering.
