Re: The Book of Grim Reaper (Initial Playtest)
C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: Grim Reaper
Army Test
Summary: He’s pretty fun. Obviously I didn’t use Recruitment, but there are plenty of solid Criminals already so I focused on that. Ock loves attack boosts, and Venom is a powerhouse himself. But Reaper was the star, he completely controlled the game by hitting Luke over and over. The defense subtraction plus a heal and OM removal is NASTY. When the Fighters essentially lost an entire round, it was already game over. Ock throws so many attacks just himself with that boost, he tore up the Fighters’ entire army.
Map: Custom
Units: Reaper (265), Doc Ock, Venom (Mac), Trapster (800)
Vs.
Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Moon Knight (800)
Spoiler Alert!
Recap: Ock pretty quickly gets height on Moon Knight, rolling 4 attacks of 5, but only deals 3 wounds. Reaper finishes him off with the bonding however. Iron Fist closes in and deals 3 wounds to Reaper. Ock hits Iron Fist 4 times, but only manages one wound. Reaper however hits Luke for a wound, healing, and removing an OM from Luke’s card! Ock then hits Iron Fist for 3 more wounds. Ock finally finishes Iron Fist, after throwing about 15 attacks of 5 at him, hah. Reaper hits Luke again, healing and removing OM 1, giving Reaper a second turn in a row. Ock goes after Daredevil, but can’t break his defense. Reaper hits yet another attack on Luke, so now he’s fully healed. Luke misses a defense roll and Venom finishes him off. Ock eventually cyber claw’s DD, and Reaper finishes him off.
Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Reaper with 0 wounds (Fully healed from 3 wounds), Ock with 3 wounds, the others unwounded.

Army Test
Summary: Quite a blowout. Wonder Man was the MVP here, his Ionic Imbalance saved him from taking probably about 8 wounds total. The FF didn’t have a ton of big Leader rolls either. Scarecrow did nothing, and Ock only attacked once, I believe. Otherwise the WIlliams brothers cleaned house themselves.
Map: Custom
Units: Grim Reaper (265), Doc Ock, Wonder Man, Scarecrow II (1000)
Vs.
Fan Four
Spoiler Alert!
Recap: Reaper keeps the army moving together, then grabs height and shoots Reed for a wound. Johnny shoots Reaper for a wound from height. Wonder Man punches Johnny for 4 wounds! Reed wraps up Reaper and Ock (Getting Cyber Clawed by Ock himself also!). Wonder Man flies over the armies to hit Sue for 3 wounds. Thing tries to Clobber Wonder Man, but only deals 1 wound the first attack, then Wonder Man wounds Thing and Sue on Thing’s second attack! Wonder Man easily kills Sue, then Reaper, with Sue’s shields gone, deals 3 wounds to Reed! He randomly removes OM1 from Reed’s card, which spells doom for the FF. Wonder Man hits Thing for 3 wounds, and Reaper kills Reed. Thing rolls a massive attack on Wonder Man, but his Ionic Imbalance is a huge saving grace, and WM eventually finishes Thing.
[B]Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Reaper with 0 wounds (Healed from 1 wound), Ock with 3 wounds, Wonder Man with 2 wounds, and Scarecrow with 0 wounds.

Army Test
Summary: This one went the other way. Wonder Man didn’t roll quite so hot, and I don’t think Atlas is a terrific choice for a team mate here. Sue didn’t drop when she should have, otherwise I think this would have been much closer.
Map: Custom
Units: Grim Reaper (265), Wonder Man, Atlas, Mysterio (1000)
Vs
Fan Four
Spoiler Alert!
Recap: Mysterio dodges an attack from Johnny, and he uses Smoke and Mirrors to change places with Thing. Thing attacks Reaper for 2 wounds since he’s real close, but then Wonder Man and Reaper hit him back for 3 wounds, which heals Reaper. Reed has Mysterio locked down so he can’t teleport anymore. Reed disengages to hopefully help Thing, and hits Wonder Man for a wound. Wonder Man disengages (Taking a wound) to hit Sue for 3. Thing, with the boost from Sue, kills Reaper! Johnny uses Flame On on Wonder Man, dealing 2 wounds, but his attack is blocked by Ionic Imbalance, which hurts Sue. Johnny kills Wonder Man with Flame On, bypassing an Imbalance roll. Johnny finishes Mysterio with a Flame On. Thing then kills Atlas in one hit.
[B]Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Reed with 0 wounds, Sue with 4 wounds, Ben with 3 wounds, Johnny with 2 wounds..

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY:
I think he’s just about right at 260. In a good game where he’s dealing enough damage to heal, he’s nasty. But you can still beat him down with some luck, and his 4 attack only goes so far.
GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT:
Wonder Man and Doc Ock seem like the best teammates as of now, but more experimenting should be fun. I could see something like Purple Man with Reapers OM removal being quite devastating. Lots of potential, but nothing too game changing.
