Map: Outer Space Mat
Units: Team A: Spider Man 250, Spider Girl, Scarlet Spider 190, Scarlet Spider 245, Spider Man 170 – 995 points

Team B: Star-Lord, Gamora (II), Rocket Racoon (I), Groot (I) – 1000 points

Battle Summary
Spider-Man 250 played surprisingly well in Space. And the Swingers in general had the movement advantage as they were able to splice their movement into smaller chunks (2-3 Spaces) and change direction more easily. Star-Lord is benefited by Space as well as there is a lot of clear sight which he likes. His distracting fire special attack is also well suited for Space to help with short movement like the spiders. Unlike the first game where I ran the Kryptonian team with little difference in movement ability, this Guardian team required more thought and strategy prior to moving. Gamora’s Flanking Strike was mostly useless because of Space and I quickly realized that Drax would have been a more suitable selection. Notable deaths from exposure were Rocket Raccoon. Gamora took one wound form exposure.

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes):

Guardians of the Galaxy win with Groot having 0 wounds (although he had 3 wounds at one time) he was immune to Spider-Man’s web sling special attack and so he was able to maintain his height advantage.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Playing in Space is a fun change of pace. Rules were easy to understand and implement and adds a different level of strategy. In a competitive setting though, I don’t see anyone drafting a team to go into Space without all figures having Super Strength and Flying.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT:

The one thing that might be missing is some kind of drift rule for in between rounds to randomly displace figures. Also could maybe bump other figures if you end your movement next to them with additional movement left over. Say if you move Gamora, but she ends her movement at 4 because she runs into Star-Lord, you could bump Star-Lord 2 spaces if possible because she didn’t use her full 6. Could call it Inertia or something like that.

C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
