C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: Ch’od
Army Test
Map: Swamp Lab
Units: Ch’od (215) + Starjammers (1000) VS Nightwing (200), Raven (190), Starfire (210), Superboy (240), Beast+Pterodactyl+T-Rex (160) (1000)
Unit Summary:
Damage: 2 wounds to T-Rex,
Starjammer Drop Team: chose: Corsair, Raza, Korvus; dropped in 1st round.
Water Strength 1: added 0 attack dice, added 0 defense dice.
Tough: prevented 1 wounds.
Spoiler Alert!
The Pirates dropped on the first round and set up outside the Titans SZ, but Initiative went to the Titans. They moved Superboy to height and Nightwing in to act as a shield, dealing a couple wounds to Korvus and one to Corsair. Korvus went after Starfire with his SA and dealt her a wound. He would deal her another one on the next turn under Corsair's orders. He also hit Raven for a wound. However, the Titans managed to get Starfire to height and bring Corsair to 3 wounds.
The defense subtracts on Blade of the Phoenix and Quick Shot allowed the Pirates to take out Nightwing in round two, costing the Titans an OM. Some poor attack rolls from Starfire meant that the only damage the Titans did was using Soul Self to take out Corsair. Raza also dealt a wound to Superboy.
The Titans spent round three trying to take down Korvus, tying him down with T-Rex and then hitting him with Starfire, but he got enough time to hit Superboy once. A 4/5 skull attack against 0/4 shields made it a big hit though, and out took Superboy out of the game. Soul Self at the end of the round took down Korvus though. Hepzibah moved in on the last OM.
In rounds four and five, Raza went on a tear, and some nice attacks allowed him to take out Starfire and hit Raven for two wounds. He took two wounds himself, but healed them both. Raven and Starfire took down Hepzibah.
The last three rounds were mostly cleanup at that point. Raven struggled to deal any wounds outside of Soul Self, and Raza cut through her too easily. Ch’od did some battling against the T-Rex, but struggled against it, only dealing two wounds in five attacks. Raza came to the rescue and finished it off though.
Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): R8T5: Ch’od with 3/5 wounds, Raza unwounded.
Army Test
Map: Conflict Chernobyl
Units: Ch’od (215) + Starjammers (1000) VS Xavier (220), Jean Grey (180), Polaris (200), Archangel (260), Nightcrawler (140) (1000)
Unit Summary:
Damage: 2 wounds to Archangel.
Starjammer Drop Team: chose: Corsair, Raza, Korvus; dropped in 1st round.
Water Strength 1: added 0 attack dice, added 0 defense dice.
Tough: prevented 2 wounds.
Spoiler Alert!
First round drop and an Initiative win gave the Pirates a good start and a chance to do some real damage, but meh rolls and Psychic Defense X prevented then from doing much. Korvus got three attacks, but did little, and the Mutants focused on taking him down. He died at the end of the round and Ch’od took one wound. Xavier and Archangel each took a wound and Polaris took two.
Round Two was eventful. The Pirates made a big push to hit Xavier, but timely TK rolls, a shield wall of Mutants, and 3/3 defense roll from the Prof kept him from taking any damage. Nightcrawler took a wound from Corsair's SA, and Jean and Polaris each took two wounds, which killed Polaris. The Mutants managed to kill Corsair though (with Jean finally hitting a TK roll to put him in the water) and hit Raza big, though he healed down to 2 wounds at the end of the round.
Round Three Initiative once again goes to the Pirates and Raza took out Jean. He wouldn't make it out of the round though, with the combined assault of Nightcrawler and Archangel being too much. Ch’od also died in the round, taking two more wounds from Avenging Angel. Ch’od got a solid hit on Archangel first though, dealing him two wounds. Hepzibah moved in at the end, but no wounds were dealt.
Round Four Initiative went to the Mutants this time, and Kurt and Warren blasted away Hepzibah.
Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): R4T1: Xavier and Nightcrawler each with 1/4 wounds, Archangel with 3/6.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Feels mostly balanced to me. 215 could be a little low, but my results here seem to back it up. I know there’s a strong desire to keep them at 1000 as a group, but I wouldn’t mind going higher to be safe.
GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: I like the way the Pirates are coming together as a group. They’re not exactly the top faction, but they’re a solid group of bruisers. Not really a bad place to put an OM, and Drop Team allows them to hit hard and fast. They can mess up a few teams for sure, but they’re also vulnerable to group attacks in the early going. Ch’od himself doesn’t offer a ton of excitement after the drop, but his stats are good and that first boost is sure nice.
