- Give a brief overview. As the only powerhouse on the team, even the Relentless Kirigi couldn’t last forever.
Map: Platforms 5 & 6
Units: Kirigi (175) Hand Ninja x3 (225), Merlyn (160) & Bullseye (170) [765 points]

Blob (165), Doctor Octopus (215), Doctor Light (190), Count Vertigo (160) & SHIELD Sniper (40) [770 points]

Spoiler Alert!

Conclusions:
Kyoketsu Shogi: I think the wording can be ambiguous “Roll one attack die. If you roll a skull, you may…” “After using this special power, Kirigi may use it one additional time”. Does that mean: Roll a skull and auto-wound or move a figure (twice) or; Roll a die – if a skull auto-wound or move a figure – if you fail (or pass) try for a skull 1 additional time. I went for the latter since it was more balanced. Also, you may want to limit it to small, medium or large figures.
Theme wise, I can see it working as a ranged special attack. If it causes 1 or more wounds, you may move the figure adjacent to Kirigi and then attack that figure again with a normal attack. It gives the idea that if the knife sticks, you can pull them in.

Undead Resilience: I’m not sure about the theme for this one. Wikipedia reads Kirigi has a seemingly superhuman resistance to pain and injury. He is capable of lifting at least 1,000 pounds. Both a weapons master and an accomplished martial artist, his various areas of expertise include the use of the Katana, Shuriken, Kyoketsu Shogi (rope knife), and sai. In addition, the use of a form of meditation allows him to recover from otherwise-mortal wounds. As a result, he is virtually impervious to all but devastating wounds.”
As he is, he can be picked off with small attacks, but not bigger ones which seems counter-intuitive to me. It was also really frustrating to have someone roll 2 skulls against him, replying with rolling 1 shield would give him 1 damage, but 2 shields would give him no damage. It all seems a bit backwards.
Marvel.com reads “Kirigi is able to heal himself from any wound through meditation, and he is believed to be immortal.
Kirigi is able to heal himself from any wound through meditation, and he is believed to be immortal.” which suggests that the healing takes time.
As an alternative, I would suggest:
When rolling defense dice against an attack, Kirigi adds 1 automatic shield to whatever is rolled. At the end of each round, you may remove up to 2 wound markers from this card.
