Re: The Book of Jade - Playtesting
Yeah, I'm pretty split between 250 and 260 right now and your results seem to be right there as well. I might end up 260 just for the sake of the faction she's in, but it depends on what the third tests say.
Thanks!

Army Test 1
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes
- What should be the unit's point value? 250+
- Give a brief overview. John Stewart's pod crushed here. Jade was able to Recharge 2 of his markers, which was a huge help, but the Criminals just struggled to do much. The results are skewed slightly, as I forgot about Obsessive Vendetta for most of the game, but John only faced 3-4 normal attacks, so it wouldn't likely have been a huge game changer. Jade got a couple lucky rolls and dealt out a lot of damage while sitting behind the rest of her team.
Map: Icy Road Map
Armies: Army 1: Jade, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Green Arrow (Oliver Queen), Black Canary, Robin (1050) VS Army 2: Hush, Parasite, Doctor Octopus, Electro, Clayface (1050)
Damage: 5 wounds each to Parasite and Clayface
Starheart Recharge: 2 Markers Charged, 0 wounds healed.
Spoiler Alert!
Hush chooses Stewart as his Obsessive Vendetta.
Round 1: Jade moves out, followed by Stewart with the rest of the team, while on the other side, Ock and Clayface head out.
Round 2: Stewart inflicts 3 wounds to Ock and knocks him back. Ock deals out a couple wounds to Black Canary, who retaliates by killing him. At the end of the round, Clayface moves in and kills Black Canary, Getting Into Character, where he'd be for a while.
Round 3: Electro manages a wound on Green Arrow, who takes a shot at Hush but misses. Parasite makes his way in and rolls 5 skulls, burning a Marker. Jade flies in next to Stewart and inflicts 2 wounds to Parasite.
Round 4: Parasite does no damage. Jade Recharges John and kills Parasite. Electro gets a wound in on Robin before dying to a shot from Green Arrow. Clayface reveals himself by attack John, but does no damage. John inflicts a wound on Clayface.
Round 5: Clayface dodges an LEA but does no damage to Green Arrow. Jade Recharges John again, and rolls 6 skulls on Clayface, killing him. Hush moves out, takes 3 wounds from John but manages to burn a marker.
Round 6: Hush manages 2 wounds to Ollie before dying to John.
Jade (0 markers) and Stewart (2 markers) with no wounds, Ollie with 3 and Robin with 1 are the winners.
Army Test 2
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes
- What should be the unit's point value? 250
- Give a brief overview. A tougher match-up for the Lanterns here, but they made it fairly close. Some better rolls and they might have had this one. Jade once again used her markers to Recharge a Lantern, giving Kyle some extra usefulness.
Map: Icy Road Map
Armies: Army 1: Jade, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Green Construct Mech (670) VS Army 2: Cyclops, Jean Grey, Angel, Jubilee, Iceman (670)
Damage: 2 wounds each to Cyclops and Jean.
Starheart Recharge: 2 Markers Charged, 0 wounds healed.
Spoiler Alert!
Round 1: Jade moves out first, with Kyle following behind her. A few good rolls with Jean's Telekinesis kept the Mutants together as they took the covered hill next to the SZ.
Round 2: Iceman takes a shot at an approaching Kyle but does no damage. Jade moves next to Kyle and fails to do any damage to Bobby. Jean moves Jade in next to her, dealing a wound but failing with her normal attack. Kyle creates the Mech, but does no damage. Jean inflicts another wound to Jade. The Construct deals a wound each to Jean and Iceman.
Round 3: The Construct does no damage. Jean moves Kyle and burns a marker. The Construct deals a wound to Jean, who burns another marker. After the Construct fails, Iceman dodges an LEA to burn a marker.
Round 4: Jade moves in next to Kyle but does no damage. Jean and Jubilee also fail. Jade Recharges Kyle and kills Jean. Jubilee manages to burn a marker, which is then Recharged by Jade.
Round 5: Jade deals a couple wounds to Cyke, but then whiffs and dies. The Construct inflicts a wound to Cyclops, takes one from Iceman, then turns and kills Bobby after he whiffs twice.
Round 6: After Cyclops misses, the Construct inflicts 2 wounds to Jubes. Cyke finishes off the Construct, Jubilee deals out 3 wounds to Kyle, who was trying to save his markers. After Kyle misses, Angel burns a marker.
Round 7: After another miss from Kyle, he is killed by Cyke.
Angel with no wounds, Cyclops with 3 and Jubilee with 2 are left standing.
Jade is a simple one, but she's fun to play. I like how she makes a nice boost for the Green Lanterns, but should also play well on her own. Adding 2 Markers to a Lantern is strong, but will also take some finesse to play just right. It helps Jade that her 7 defense should keep opponents from taking a couple shots here and there instead of focusing on the Lanterns. I could see her cost coming up slightly, but I think she's pretty well balanced.
