Re: The Book of Oracle - Design Phase

C3G INITIAL PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM

NAME OF THE TEST UNIT (ORACLE)

- THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them.
PASS

- MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game.
PASS

- BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding.
PASS

- SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit to powerful or too weak.
PASS

- POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and What are the stipulations on the power if there are any.
PASS

PASS

- FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against.

PASS

Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes

- What should be the unit's point value? 110-120
- Give a brief overview. Other than Contingency Plan, Oracle's powers really shine in one-on-one situations. None of the figures she matched up with her had the threat range and mobility combination to kite her effectively. Robin came the closest, but near guaranteed initiative helps her combat even kiting pretty effectively.
Spoiler Alert!

Squad Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes

- What should be the unit's point value? 110 feels spot on.
- Give a brief overview. SHIELD Agents one-on-one don't match up with Oracle in melee, but they managed to shoot her from height several times, including an early Kill Box Special for 2 wounds on her.
Map: Custom Map (Platforms 5 and 6 with no pillars)
Units: SHIELD Agents x1 (110) vs. Oracle
Spoiler Alert!

Squad Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes

- What should be the unit's point value? 80?
- Give a brief overview. No contest here. Oracle would be owned in this match up every time.
Map: Custom Map (Platforms 5 and 6 with no pillars)
Units: Skrull Warriors x1 (110) vs. Oracle
Spoiler Alert!

Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes

- What should be the unit's point value? 120 feels good
- Give a brief overview. Oracle is a really nice support pieces in armies and a good option in end game. Her team got the advantage here, but it was a really fun, balanced match throughout.
Map: Custom Map (Platforms 5 and 6 with no pillars)
Units: Oracle (120), Commissioner Gordon (90), Batman (200), Speedy (Mia 80), Alfred (60), Beat Cops x2 (130), Black Canary (190), Green Arrow (130) (1000) vs. Joker (190), Harley Quinn (130), Hush (220), Riddler (140), Two-Face (130), Ventriloquist (90), Black Mask (100) (1000)
Spoiler Alert!

Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes

- What should be the unit's point value? 120 felt perfect here.
- Give a brief overview. Contingency Plan didn't come into play here as Riddler usually took Order Markers off figures before they were destroyed. Penguin messed up his team's strategy early, then got killed by a Black Canary, Huntress, and Robin combo. They then took out several Street Thugs before Black Mask came up and used his Criminal Motivation to take down Canary. The motivation backfired on him when it and Ruthless Counter Strike lead to four dead Thugs, though. Luckily, Ventriloquist's gun was enough to finish off Robin and put three wounds on Huntress. Riddle Me This, Riddler, and the last Street Thug were enough to take Huntress down, leading to end game with Oracle.
Map: Custom Map (Platforms 5 and 6 with no pillars)
Units: Oracle (120), Black Canary (190), Huntress (170), Robin (Tim Drake) (120) (600) vs. Street Thugs x2 (150), Penguin (120), Riddler (140), Black Mask (100), Ventriloquist (90) (600)
Spoiler Alert!

C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
