TEST 1
Map: Mole Hills
Units: Baron von Strucker vs. Batman

Baron held height for the majority of the fight, but 2 successful Evasive Strikes in a row really hurt Baron. Looking back at the fight, with Bruce's 4 life and Evasive Strike, Death Spore may have been a smarter idea which could have lead to victory, but as the dice fell...
Batman wins with 2 wounds.

TEST 2

Units:Baron von Strucker vs. Green Goblin

This was a tough match for our man here. Pumpkin Bomb followed by a normal attack was too much fire power, and Goblin Glider's 1 defense from ranged blocks all gave Green Goblin control of the fight.
Green Goblin wins with 0 wounds

TEST 3
Map: Mole Hills
Units: Baron von Strucker vs Molly Hayes.

This was a close match. Molly only became power fatiqued once, which was on the last turn of the 2nd round... only taking away 1 turn. The following initiative roll was big and Molly won and dropped Baron.
Molly wins with 3 wounds.

TEST 4
Map: Mole Hills
Units: Baron von Strucker vs Punisher

Punisher had the advantage from range here, as expected. In round 1 Punisher rolled a 3 skull Armor Piercing Special which really hurt Baron. Baron risked moving off height at the end of the round to try and get close enough to use his Satan's Claw/Death Spore attacks in round 2, but Punisher won initiative and finished Baron with his Assault Rifle from height.
Punisher wins with 1 wound.

TEST 5
Map: Mole Hills
Units: Baron von Strucker vs Captain America.

The two battled on even ground for the majority of the fight. Captain's superior stats made him the favorite to win, but Baron pulled the upset!
Baron wins with 4 wounds.







When I first looked at Baron's card I knew he was really going to shine with a army around him as apposed to these heavy hitting playtests... So I wasn't too discouraged when he lost the majority of these fights. His Satan's Claw was the only special ability used during these tests, and I was excited to fill the board with more units to test the other 2!

This had to be the most exciting Squad Test to date! The first round played out by both squads of agents moving together to height while Baron kept a safe distance for fear of the Kill Box Special. The Agents moved towards Baron, backed by 3 on height and only moving 1 in range of the Death Spore. By the 3rd turn in round 1 Baron was down to 1 life left with 5 Agents remaining! He risked coming off height to use Death Spore Release on 3 of the 5 Agents, and killed 2. The agents won initiative and used Kill Box Special, but it was blocked! Baron used Death Spore Release on the remaining 3 and killed 2 more! The last remaining agent got height and put a end to the madness.

Units: Hydra Agents x3 Baron Strucker, Red Skull, Joker, Harley Quinn (960)
vs Professor X, Angel, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Ice Man (1000).

This first picture was after the 1st round. Jean Grey took the point for the X-men to try and stop the onslaught of Agents from approaching with Telekenisis, while the Agents, Baron, and Red Skull moved up to face them. Baron played it safe during this stage of the battle for fear of coming off height and getting picked apart from height by the Mutants. The Hydra Agents moved up to engage the Mutants 2 at a time, but they fell just as fast. Some wounds where exchanged in the first few rounds, with the first major casualty coming in round 4 after Jean tossed Red Skull into position followed shortly by Iceman. Dust of Death was a intimidating pressense that never bared it's ugly head for the terror squad. Baron followed the death of Red Skull by approaching Jean Grey and taking her last life with Death Spore Release! Cyclops falls victim to the Agents unrelenting assault. Things where not going so good for the Mutants at this point so beast makes a bold move and approaches a hill of Agents and kills them all!

Baron kills Angel and Beast, Iceman turns around and kills Baron. Which leaves Iceman and Professor X vs. Joker and HQ. HQ dies to Iceman and Joker with 1 life left kills Iceman with "want to hear another!" which left Joker vs Professor X!
This was a very exciting match! definitely the more exciting of the 2! Baron's arsenal really shined here, and Red Skulls presence took some of the pressure off Baron as he wasn't the only Ruthless Mastermind the mutants had to deal with.
Reorganized Chaos only won 2 of the 8 rounds.

Units: Hydra Agents x3, Baron Strucker, Magneto, Blob, Beat Cops (990)
vs. Black Canary, Green Arrow OG, Robin, Commissioner Gordon, Superman, Shield Sniper (990)

The strategy with this army was to place Blob adjacent to some of the lower water spaces with height and to toss people into the water with Magneto to be stuck by Blob, which will let Baron's Satan's Claw Special that much more intimidating! The first round was filled with Magneto moving up and tossing Blob into position while Robin/Black Canary and Green Arrow moved up. Baron and the Hydra Agents joined the fun in the next round as did a lurking Superman, but the majority of the battle was between Blob/Magneto and Black Canary/Robin/GA in round 2. Robin was tossed into the water at the end of round 2 which set Baron up nicely for round 3! Baron and the agents entered the fight in round 3 by the Agents winning initiative and rushing to surround Black Canary with Intelligence Network, and placing 2 wounds on her. Baron engaged a stuck Robin in the water and killed him with 1 fell swoop of Satan's Claw! Black Canary and GA had a lot of success in the round with killing off a lot of the Hydra Agents. Round 4 went back and forth with the Agents/Baron vs. Black Canary/GA most of the Agents where killed in this round, but so was BC/GA! Magneto moved up and tossed Green Arrow into the water, and since he had no OM's on him he was victim to Baron's Satan's Claw which took his last 3 life! Round 5 brought out the big gun, Superman, who flew over and attacked a now vulnerable Magneto who blanked D and died in 1 swoop! Superman went on to finish Baron, who had a excellent showing! Blob and the remaining agents battled it out with Supe's for a while, but in the end the man of steel stood tall... Barely!

I am really excited about this figure! It's no secret that my favorite units tend to be Hero's that have a squad they bond with... And these work perfectly together! All of his abilities where used during playtesting, and I really made it a point to get the full effect of Satan's Claw Special by playing on a map with water and using Magneto in the 2nd test to force people into water and keeping them there with Blob. Death Spore was probably the more strategic of the 2 attacks. The range of 2 really makes you think about using it or not in certain situations... like if you want to give up your position to use it or stay on height and attack from range. Death Spore is great though! I loved it. Intelligence Network was never used in the 1st game due to the X OM being on Joker for Reorganized Chaos and the other OM's on the Agent cards so I made sure to use it in the 2nd game as well. So far my favorite way to use him was when Red Skull was also in the army with 3 squads of agents.
I'd say he passes at 210 points. His stats/abilities make him over cost during heavy hitter 1v1 play as there are units with better stats at the same level, but his synergy with the terrorist really makes him outshine some of the same units that would otherwise cream him 1v1.
I really enjoyed playtesting this unit... Great job Hahma! really loving how the Terror Squad is coming together and can't wait to see whats next!
This will be a unit I look forward to playing more of.
