Re: Molly Hayes - Playtesting Phase

C3G PLAY TEST FEEDBACK FORM

NAME OF THE TEST UNIT Molly Hayes

- THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them.
Pass I’d still prefer her being cheaper, being a 13 year old girl with no training or anything, but she IS powerful, and there’s nothing wrong with the design.

- MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game.
Pass

- BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding.
Pass

- SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit to powerful or too weak.
.

- POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and What are the stipulations on the power if there are any.
Pass Powerful, but a huge detriment, so…

- FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play.
.

- FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against.
.

- DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting.
.

- USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable.
Pass

- STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game.
Pass

- Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero/ Does it pass, Yes or No? What should be the unit's point value? Give a brief summary. Pass, at 180
The first battle, I thought she was too powerful. The second battle, I thought she was too weak. It all depends on her matchups and fatigue. If you can outmaneuver and shoot Molly, she’s done. If she’s still awake and after you, you’re in trouble! Pretty thematic!
Spoiler Alert!

- Squad / Does it pass, Yes or No? What should be the unit's point value? Give a brief summary. Pass
The Agents just kept her off the height by blocking her path, and pulverized her. Not much to say. Squads eat her up, especially ranged squads. Gotta wait for the army tests to really nail down the point cost, as she should obviously be a little cheaper from squad tests.

Molly is NASTY in a mutant army! Colossus, Molly, and Blob are pretty much unstoppable. Two huge hits every turn, and Molly costing not nearly as much as Colossus. She never fell asleep once, but even if she did, Blob and Colossus would have done enough damage on their own. They might have won, but Molly was just overkill. I think a better way for her power to work is to roll before taking a turn with her. That way there’s always the risk there. Before the round is just annoying, but it’s not really a problem, especially in a mutant army. If she falls asleep BEFORE taking a turn with her, then every activation is a risk, and you might reconsider using her, or Colossus and Blob (Using this game as an example).
Right now she’s just a huge attack for fairly cheap in a mutant army. She doesn’t have much mobility, but I don’t really see a reason to use Beast over her.
Granted, against a squad-based army this might be totally different, but I think it still needs to be discussed a bit.

This was obviously a steamroll. Molly didn’t see as much play as in the last test, since Lex tied her down pretty quickly, and Wolverine was on a rampage anyway. But she still never fell asleep, and even if she did, the others could have easily covered for her that round. The mutants are pretty tricky, as every single one has to be checked with the Professor, which I think can get tedious. But up until now I don’t think we’ve had a big problem. Molly is just amazing when others can take turns also. I think that’s kind of a theme break, since Molly really hates the Xmen, and once punched Wolverine like 100 yards because she didn’t like him. Wolverine and Molly have reconciled, but she still won’t join the Xmen, while in Heroscape here, she’s best in the Xmen. I lover her design, she’s just a bit much with the Professor.
