Spoiler Alert!
Vs. Superman – Superman won with 5 wounds on T2R3. Guy made sure to take a wound each round to use his Willful Overextend to get that extra turn/attack. It looked bad for Supes early, but after putting wounds on himself for WO, Guy would later have to burn a BM even against low attacks from Supes and eventually his attacks were not hurting Supes anymore.
Vs. Darkseid – Guy won with 3 wounds and 2 Battery Markers on T5R2. His faster movement allowed him to get to height early and get two attacks with height after taking a wound to use Willful Overextend. Darkseid didn’t roll particularly well for his OE. DS eventually got adjacent and same level but Guy was able to still get off a couple good attacks on T1R2 with WO and kept chipping away while using Shields to block DS attacks. Eventually, Guy finished DS off with a 2/0 attack.
Vs. GL Hal – Hal wins with 2 wounds and 3 BM on T1R2. Started out fast and furious between the two Lanterns as Guy put 1 wound on Hal with first attack from a lowly 3skull attack and then gave himself a wound (1) to use Willful Overextend and put another wound (2) on Hal with another 3 skull attack. Hal forced Guy to burn a BM(3) with a 5 skull attack but missed FC. Guy misses this time with a 3 skull attack that Hal takes a risk in defending with 2 wounds already but he’s a mover and a risk taker and came up with 4 shields. Hal then misses Guy with a 1 skull attack and misses FC. Guy forces Hal to burn a BM (3) with a 4 skull attack that Hal isn’t feeling as fearless about rolling defense against.
Hal wins initiative in R2 and misses with a 2/3 attack, but rolls an 18+2 on FC and forces Guy to burn a BM(2) with a 4 skull attack. Then Hal rolls a 15+2 FC roll to go again and kills Guy with a 3/0 attack. Guy only needed 1 shield to stay alive as he only had 1 wound, so he took a chance vs. a 3 skull attack and wanted to save BM to attack with next turn and maybe use WO to try to finish off Hal that had 2 W and 2 BM. If nothing else, Guy wanted to force Hal to use last 2 BM’s and hope for the best after that.
Vs Sinestro – Guy wins with 3 wounds and 1 BM on T1R2. Sinestro put 3 wounds on Guy right off the bat with a 4/1 attack. Guy had wanted to save BM’s and didn’t expect to get hit that hard. But Guy hits back hard with a 5 skull roll to force Sinestro to burn a BM (3) and Guy burns a BM(3) to use WO but misses with a 2/3 attack. Sinestro attacks with FOF and rolls 4 skulls to force Guy to burn a BM (2) and Sinestro burns a BM (2) to attack with FOF again and only rolls 1 skull. Guy takes a risk that he can defend with 3 dice (5-2 from FOF) and rolls 1 shield to stay alive. Guy then attacks but misses with a 2/2 attack.
Guy wins initiative and puts 3 wounds on Sinestro with a 3/0 attack and burns a BM (1) to uses WO to kill Sinestro with a 2/0 attack. Sinestro could have burned a BM in either case, but had full lives for the first attack and didn’t want to waste a BM and didn’t expect to whiff. Then he certainly could have used BM on WO attack, but he was hoping to roll at least 1 shield to stay alive and be able to burn a BM for FOF next turn.
VS. Martian Manhunter – Guy wins with 3 wounds and 4 BMs on T1R2. Guy hit MM early for 2 wounds (1 first att and 1 from WO attack). MM leaves engagement to fly to height and attacks with a 4 skull attack that Guy takes a chance to roll defense for and gets 2 shields to take 2 wounds (3) Guy engages and misses. MM misses with a 1 skull attack.
Guy wins initiative and puts 2 more wounds on MM and then burns a BM to use WO to kill MM with a 5/1 attack. After MM left engagement the first time to attack with range and height, he wouldn’t be able to make use of that again as he wouldn’t have any advantage to LE since Guy would re-engage and attack. MM is more suited for team play anyway since he can’t make use of Telepathic Directive while alone and Intangible works better when opponent is locked up with a teammate and MM can LE and not get chased.
Vs. Wonder Woman – Guy wins with 3 wounds and 1 BM on T2R2. WW had first turn in R1 and didn’t want to fly too close to Guy so he could engage her right away, but he flew, attacked and missed with range, then took a wound to use WO to engage WW so she couldn’t use Lasso, but he missed with a 3/4 attack. WW attacks with 2 skulls and Guy is cocky and rolls defense but whiffs to take 2 wounds. Now he has 3 wounds because of WO on T1. Guy’s pride is wounded, among other things so he hits back hard with a 5/0 attack that stuns WW and puts her 1 wound from death. Had WW had last turn of round, she’d risk dying from LE to hope for Initiative win next round to use Lasso, but Guy had last turn this round so WW attacks with 2 skulls and since Guy only has 1 life left, he isn’t going to risk whiffing again and burns a BM (3). Then Guy misses WW with a 2/2 attack.
WW wins initiative (go figure) and rolls 4 skulls for an attack that forces Guy to burn a BM(2). Guy misses with a 3/3 attack and burns a BM (1) to attack WW again and kills her with a 2/1 attack. Guy figured he’d have to burn that BM anyway next turn from WW attack and still had 1 to spare, so he’s generally going to use WO whenever he can early in a round to stack wounds on opponent or try to close them out if they are close to dying.
I went a little nuts with the detail here, but since Griff was concerned with Guy’s WO, I wanted to give some details to show better what goes on with WO. As you can see, Guy won initiative in R2 on several occasions that may have made a difference in some cases. Don’t expect this detail throughout the testing though, as this “Guy” is supposed to be pretty straight forward and I’m not going to waste more time than necessary this time.

Hal (350), Guy (330) Sentinels x 2 (320) 1000 points
vs.
Wolverine (280), Colossus (260), Prof X (220), Iceman (150) and Angel (90) for 1000 points.
Spoiler Alert!
R1- Sentinel White moves out. Prof X has Angel carry him toward height and moves Iceman. Sentinel advances and attacks Iceman with a 4/3 attack for 1 wound on Iceman. Mutant Alert has Sentinel Tan move 4 spaces. Angel uses Guardian Angel to carry Iceman closer to height. Prof X has Wolverine move and then has Colossus move adjacent to Wolverine and he uses FBS to throw Wolvie adjacent to Sentinel White, but doesn't put a wound on it. Guy flies to height and attacks Wolverine for 1 wound and takes a wound himself to use WO and puts 2 more wounds on Wolverine for 3 total. Prof X has Angel carry Colossus adjacent to Guy and Colossus attacks Guy with a 4/3 attack for Guy's 2nd wound (he took a big chance not using Shield to block that attack, but he's crazy like that).
R2- Prof X has Wolverine with height attack Sentinel White and he kills it and heals 1 wound (2). Colossus attacks Guy with another 4 skull attack, but this time Guy burns a BM to save his bacon. Sentinel Tan flies and attacks with height vs. Wolverine but misses. Prof X has Colossus attack Guy but misses and then has Iceman attack Guy with DF and forces Guy to burn another BM (2) with yet another 4 skull attack. Guy attacks Iceman for 2 wounds (3) and then takes a wound (3) for WO and kills Iceman with a 4/2 attack. Prof X has Colossus attack Guy with yet another 4 skull attack that forces Guy to burn a BM (1) and then Wolverine moves and attacks Sentinel Tan and puts 3 wounds on it and heals. Hal flies to height and attacks Wolverine for 2 more wounds for 3 total.
R3- Prof X has Colossus attack Guy but he misses with a 2/2 attack and then Wolverine attacks and kills Sentinel Tan and heals a wound (2). Guy takes a chance and leaves engagement from Colossus for no fatal wound and attacks and misses Wolverine. Prof X has Wolverine move and attack Guy who has height and Wolvie kills him and then heals (1). Angel pick up Prof X and carries him up to height and near Colossus. Hal moves and attacks Wolvie for 2 wounds (4). Prof X has Wolvie move and heal 1 wound (3) and then has Angel move adjacent to Wolverine. Hal moves and attacks Wolvie for 2 wounds (5).
R4- Prof X has Angel carry Wolverine back toward him and has Colossus move 1 space. Hal attacks Wolvie and misses. Prof X has Colossus use FBS to throw Wolvie at Hal but doesn't wound him. Wolverine attacks Hall and puts 2 wounds on him and heals 1 wound (4). Hal attacks and kills Wolverine with a 5/1 attack. Prof X has Angel carry Colossus adjacent to Hal and Colossus attacks but misses. Hal attacks Colossus and misses and then misses FC.
R5- Hal leaves engagement from Colossus for no wounds and flies adjacent to and with height over Prof X and attacks with a 4/1 attack for 3 wounds as Prof X was a brave old bird to not use his Psionic Defense. Then Hal misses FC. Prof X has Angel fly Colossus back adjacent to Hal and Angel misses Hal with a 2/3 attack, but Colossus rolls 6 skulls to force Hal to burn a BM (3). Hal attacks Prof X and forces him to burn his Psionic Defense X marker. Prof X has Angel attack and miss Hal and Colossus misses him as well with a 2/4 attack. Hal kills Prof X with a 6/2 attack, no FC.
R6 - Colossus puts 1 wound on Hal (3). Hal puts 2 wounds on Colossus and gets FC to work but misses Colossus and then misses FC. Colossus misses Hal with a 2/4 attack. Hal puts 2 more wounds on Colossus with a 6/4 attack. Colossus forces Hal to burn a BM (2).Hal misses Colossus.
R7- Colossus forces Hal to burn another BM (1). Hal misses attack and FC vs. Colossus. Colossus kills Hal with a 2/0 attack. Hal died with 1 BM.
Colossus with 4 wounds and Angel with 0 wounds survive to win on T3R7.
I had lowered Guy to 330 for this test after lowering his defense to 2. This might be still too high for him, as I will test him at 320 for the next test. I might have had better luck leading with Hal instead of Guy, as Hal is more durable, but I had wanted to use Guy as a shock troop sort of and weaken the Mutants. However, the extreme flexibility of the Mutant army with Prof X and Angel, really made things hard for Guy's team. Not only did Mutants get two activations, but even an extra little mobility from Angel's Guardian Angel and his normal help with moving figures around. Colossus' FBS was nice even though it didn't give a wound, it got Wolvie where he needed to be and quick, and that mobility option made Wolverine much more deadly. It also didn't help that the Mutants won so man initiatives that allowed for either mobility use or multiple attacks. It also didn't help that GL team didn't have special attacks to bypass Guardian Angel or Steel Skin.
