R1 – Stingers move, Hal moves adjacent to 1 Stinger to deny it height next turn and kills it. Stingers move and attack, putting 3 quick wounds on Hal who rolled poorly with height vs. 2 skull attacks. Hal creates Construct, it moves to height and attacks Stingers, but only rolls 0 and 1 shield, missing both times. Wolverine moves toward Construct. Hal moves to highest point in one corner of map and Construct moves to highest point in opposite corner of map and attacks with height vs. Wolverine and kills him with 3/2 and 5/0 attacks (more than makes up for the bad rolls vs. Stingers)

R2- Hal stays put and moves Construct to kill 1 Stinger. Stinger move to 5 spaces away from Construct and all 3 miss attacks vs. Construct. Construct moves but still attacks from height and kills 1 more Stinger. Stingers move to attack and kill the Construct. Hal kills a Stinger. Stingers miss Hal.

R3 – Stingers Drain 15 but miss Hal. Hal kills another Stinger. Stingers Drain 13 and miss Hal again. Hal kills another Stinger. Last 2 Stingers move and attack but miss Hal again. Hal kills another Stinger.

R4 – Last Stinger misses Hal. Hal kills last Stinger.

Hal with 4 BMs and 3 wounds survives to win.

R1- Stingers move. Hal creates Construct, moves to height , moves Construct adjacent to him with height and has it attack and kill 1 Stinger. Stinger move back to 5 spaces away from Construct and Drain 4, so 1 dies and turn ends. Construct moves closer and retains height and kills 1 Stinger. Stingers move to engage Construct with one getting to same level and others below. First 2 attacks miss but last Stinger rolls 3 skulls to 1 shield for Construct (with 7 defense with height) and kills Construct. Hal attack with height vs. Stinger and kills it.

R2 – Hal kills a Stinger. Stingers move and attack but miss Hal. Hal kills another Stinger. Stingers move and attack but miss Hal again. Hal kills another Stinger. Stingers move, attack and miss Hal again.

R3 – Hal kills another Stinger. Last Stinger Drains 16 after moving adjacent to Hal and Hal blocks 3 skull attack. Hall misses Stinger. Wolverine moves. Hal kills last Stinger. Wolverine moves again.

R4 – Hal flies across river and attacks with height vs. Wolverine but misses. Wolverine moves out of LOS and range. Hal moves to height and attacks Wolverine for 1 wound. Wolverine moves adjacent and attacks but misses with both attacks and removes the 1 wound marker. Hal attacks to put 4 wounds on Wolverine, FC 11. Wolverine forces Hal to remove 2 Battery Markers with 2 attacks of 4 (Hal had Def reduced to 5 and then 4 so chose to use BM). Then Hal whiffed vs. a 2 skull attack and took 2 wounds. Wolverine then healed 1 wound and then another for the X.

R5 – Hal attacks (5) but misses and FC 5. Wolvie forces Hal to remove final 2 Battery Markers with next turn of 3 attacks and healed 1. Hal put 2 wounds on Wolvie (3) FC 18 to put 2 more wounds on Wolvie with a 2/0 attack for 5 wounds on Wolvie now, FC3. Wolvie attacks and kills Hal with his second attack and then healed 1 wound.

Wolverine survived to win with 4 wounds.

Played on Ruins of Pine Tree Marshmap

Hal (350) Mech Construct (120) Huntress (170) Spiderman (160) for 800 points

Vs.

Colossus (260) Captain America (220) Tandros Kreel (120) Kaemon Awa (120) Fire Elementals x 2 (70) and Isamu (10) for 800 points.

R1 – Spidey moves. Tandros moves. Hal flies his full move to height and attacks Tandros for 1 wound. Kaemon Awa moves and attacks Hal with height but misses with both attacks. Huntress moves but can’t attack. Fire Elemental (red) moves.

R2 – Hal creates the Mech Construct and has it adjacent to him on height and has it attack Kaemon Awa for 3 wounds. Colossus moves adjacent to both Tandros and Kaemon, then uses FBS to throw Tandros across the river to height adjacent to Huntress but doesn’t put on a wound. Hal activates Construct and it kills Kaemon Awa, but misses Tandros. Fire Elemental (red) moves adjacent to Spidey and puts 1 wound on him with Searing Intensity roll of 19 and then puts another wound on Spidey with a 1 skull attack that Spidey whiffed on after missing SS. Huntress moves to same level as Tandros and puts 1 wound on him with 2 adjacent crossbow attacks. Kaemon Awa dead for no turn.

R3 – Hal activates Construct and has it attack with height twice vs. Tandros and puts 4 more wounds on him (6). Fire Elemental doesn’t Sear Spidey this time, but puts 2 more wounds (4) on Spidey with normal attack after Spidey misses SS again and whiffs defense again. Construct kills Tandros Kreel with first attack and then puts 1 wound on Colossus (1) with a 4/3 attack. Captain America moves adjacent to Colossus and throw his shield to put 1 wound (1) on Construct, miss Hal and Spidey rolls 17 for SS this time and gets away from that darn Fire Elemental. Huntress Fire Elemental from 5 spaces but misses with both attacks. Colossus uses FBS to throw Cap adjacent and 1 level lower than the Construct with a d20 roll of 18 to put 2nd and final wound on Construct.

R4 – Captain America moves up to same level and adjacent to Hal and forces Hal to burn a Battery Marker (3) with a 5 skull attack. Hal had hoped to win initiative to get away, but didn’t so he attacks Cap but misses. FC roll of 19 lets him attack again but he takes 1 wound from Counter Strike. Miss next FC. Colossus moves adjacent to Fire Elemental (red) and uses FBS to throw it at Huntress but it doesn’t wound her. Huntress leaves engagement with Fire Elemental for no wound and is 2 spaces away from Cap, who has height. She manages to put 1 wound on him with her 2 attacks of 5. Cap is on fire with his attack rolls as he forces Hal to burn another Battery Marker (2) with another 5 skull attack. Huntress attacks Cap with height from 2 spaces away again but doesn’t have much luck with 2/2 and 1 / 2 attacks.

R5 – Huntress puts 2 wounds on Cap (3). Cap only rolls 3 skulls this time vs. Hal and Hal decides to take a chance to roll defense and rolls 4 shields to block. Hal then kills Cap with a 4/2 attack. Cap is dead so no turn. Huntress moves up to height adjacent to Hal and attacks Colossus twice with special attacks of 3, but misses both times. Colossus moves into the river, adjacent to the Fire Elemental (red) and uses FBS to throw it at Huntress but doesn’t wound her.

R6 – Huntress kills Fire Elemental (red) and misses Colossus. Colossus moves to attack Huntress with height and rolls 5 skulls to her 1 shield, 4 skulls and 1 blank(she was adjacent to Hal, so no -1 to her def). She’s dead, but had she rolled 1 more shield, she would have put some nice wounds on Colossus with Ruthless Counter Strike. Huntress dead so no turn. Colossus moves up to same level as Hal and rolls 4 skull to force Hal to burn another Battery Marker (1). Hal misses Colossus then FC 18 but misses Colossus again then FC 3 to end turn. Colossus attacks Hal again and forces him to burn another Battery Marker (0).

R7 – Hal has a weak attack vs. Colossus and misses and doesn’t FC. Colossus puts 1 wound on Hal (2). Spidey moves and attacks Colossus with Web attack but his 3 skull attack is dismissed by a 5 shield defense roll. Colossus then kills Hal. Spidey misses Colossus again. Colossus moves and attacks Spidey, but Spidey blocks the attack after missing SS.

R8 – Colossus kills Spidey with a 4/2 attack after Spidey misses yet another SS roll. ( he had terrible luck with SS most of the game).

Colossus with 1 wound, as well as Fire Elemental (green) and Isamu survive for victory.

Construct put 5 of 7 wounds on Tandros Kreel, all wounds on Kaemon Awa and 1 wound on Colossus. Hal didn’t do much other than putting final 2 wounds on Cap (after taking 1 wound from CS), as he used most of his OM’s to control Construct. But that was good at the time as two attacks of 5 seemed to be the better option than 1 big attack. Hal should have left engagement with Cap to attack him or Colossus with range, but he didn’t expect Cap to roll 5 skulls for first two attacks to force BM removal and he had expected Huntress’s double attacks of 5 to take down Cap sooner, but she rolled crappy. Spidey had terrible luck with his SS and to top that off, he whiffed twice (vs. a 1 skull and 2 skull attack from Fire Elemental) to take quick wounds. Colossus was a beast and FBS was awesome to get non-flyers with moves of 5 into close quarters quickly vs. Hal’s team. FBS got Fire Elemental and Tandros across the river and got Cap up to height that he wouldn’t have gotten to with his normal move on his next turn.
