Re: Sports: NFL

Not quite NFL, but I saw highlights for the first two XFL games. Looks like they got some big plays like they were hoping. Definitely looks better than the first time around.

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?

My youngest is discovering the awesomeness that is Avatar the Last Airbender. She was otherwise occupied, so I watched the final episodes again. Those are moving, powerful and beautiful.

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?

We put in our Man From UNCLE DVD last night. Man, that movie is so much fun. It's sad that it didn't make enough money to get a sequel.

Re: RIP Kobe Bryant

When I saw the headline I immediately thought it was one of those internet celebrity death pranks. Then I saw that it was on actual news sites.

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?

I've watched a couple so far. For the most part I like it, but I'm not sure how I feel about how it has deviated from the books so far.

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?

I might not be the best to talk to about how the book handled things. I read the series after seeing season 1, so my first read was informed by my experience with the show. The first season of the...

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?

How much of the series have you read? They introduce characters earlier in the series than they did in the books. I think it was an understandable choice. The first book is fairly narrow in what you...

Re: Gaging Interest in a Nov 9 Tournament Findlay, OH

If it were about 10 years ago, I would be there with my son, and possibly a couple of his friends, but I haven't been around since 2010. We were it back then.

Re: Sports: NFL

The GB/Chicago game may have been ugly, but it was kind of cool seeing Blake Martinez lead GB in tackles. Watched that kid play high school football for a couple years when my kids were still in high...

Re: Question Dump: Post Your Questions Here.

Off topic, but I'm rereading the first Mistborn trilogy, and that totally came across as Sazed.

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?

Just finished Stranger Things season 3 last night on an ill-advised mini-binge of the last three episodes. I really enjoyed it.

I'm starting to feel sorry for Steve. He gets the ever loving crap...

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?

Different but still really solid. I just finished the 8th book a couple days ago so I'm fully invested in both the books and the show. Probably my favorite book series in the recent time.[/QUOTE]

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?

I've almost finished season 3 of The Expanse. I think I have 2 left. It's interesting how the show and the books have diverged.

Re: Music: What are you listening to right now?

I've been listening to a lot of metal and hard rock at the gym. I got tired of the techno/dance stuff they played and got some of my favorites together. Soundgarden in particular is awesome for...

Re: Sci-Fi Cat Walks

The crochet mesh is the cheap and easy way to go, as has already been said. They will need something to support them. Craft sticks or popsicle sticks can do it for cheap. There are also hobby sheet...

Re: Question Dump: Post Your Questions Here.

Regarding the Brunak question. I seem to remember an old discussion about Carry, but I can't seem to find it. IIRC it was about whether or not Brunak can Carry with a move of 0. In essence, act as a...

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?

I've been trying to catch up on some shows today. I watched a couple episodes of The Expanse season 3, and the 5th episode of Cloak and Dagger season 2. Holy crap, that ending of Cloak and Dagger...

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?

My daughter has a similar hair style to Captain Marvel at the end of Endgame (otherwise she doesn't look much like her). As she was walking out of the theater, there was a little kid that saw her,...

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?

Totally agree. Just about every episode there are moments where I just kind of pull back and think, this is really good. The way they craft the story of the dual leads and how they parallel each...

Saw End Game last night. Very satisfied. I went solo, so I'm just waiting for the chance to take my wife. So many great moments.

Re: What Board Game Are You Currently Playing?

My son got me the Joust board game for my Birthday. It's a fair adaptation of the video game. It's fairly light, plays quickly and the momentum mechanic makes it interesting.

I never really looked at this thread before, but today I took a look at the first post. I saw the names, and I was like is Mossman the same David Wood that I've heard on the Dead Robots' Society...
