Ranior I do think you are right, As Russia given the board, I wouldnt have allied with England as well. So you are right there. I think you played a great game to end up apart of the draw.

I remember a season where we were talking and then maybe 24 hrs before deadline you went silent on me with some open ended decisions , then another season i heard nothing. Going off memory.

Id say there was only about a 10% chance I was gonna stab france after russia was gone. I felt like Austria was not in much position to stop you, but if he built a fleet or two at the end that woulda...

First half of the game was very enjoyable. New news has come to me that leads me to believe that Austria/Italy didnt know we could ask the GM to call the game as a Stalemate and the game got drawn...

I would actually suggest the newcomers play another "Quick" game on the site, short deadlines, not really caring about that result, but getting a feel for how the game is played.

Well more to the point is that you shouldn't tell anyone what country you are until after the game.
All communications for the game happen inside of the website that runs the game.

The game of Diplomacy was written to have no press during the retreat and build phases, while yes this game was originally played Face to Face, I do not think this was the reason this rule is in...

Further reason I mention it, it will help speed up the game during these times as you cannot communicate and negotiate builds, and will also require you to iron it out in your weekly press.
