Re: The Dice Tower Convention - with Scape! (July 5-8)

That is really surprising about Melody. Nine Minions on small maps with Fog of War should have been a really strong combination. Normally, those things are beasts to get rid of.

Re: The Dice Tower Convention - with Scape! (July 5-8)

While I'm thinking of it, do we have to use the same army in every round, or may we make substitutions depending on the map?

Re: The Dice Tower Convention - with Scape! (July 5-8)

I assume we will be bringing our own figures instead of drafting them. Will there be a pool of draft-able figures for people who can't smuggle in their own or who just didn't plan ahead?

Also,...

Re: The Dice Tower Convention - with Scape! (July 5-8)

I'm leaving for the convention tomorrow, so I really need to know the format asap. Otherwise, I won't be able to participate.

Re: The Book of Mika Connour

As someone who hasn't gotten the Battle for the Underdark master set yet, I was wondering, is she packaged with two shadow tiles, or is she just an expensive vanilla human in situations like mine?

Re: The Book of Kelda the Kyrie Warrior

I was thinking of using the following 500 point Kelda-centric army:

Alastair MacDirk
Evar Scarcarver
Kelda the Kyrie Warrior
Krug
MacDirk Warriors

The idea is that you basically always keep...

Max Army Size

I haven't been able to play HeroScape in a while, but I'm about to start again. I was wondering, though, what size armies (in point values) tend to make for the most enjoyable games? Assume a very...

Re: The Most Disappointing Unit

Obsidian Guards. I got started late in scape, so they were really hard for me to get. Then their sculpts look so cool, but they're terrible.

As for Groks, I'd be hard pressed to say that any...

Re: The Book of Knights of Weston

I played with the KoW for the first time last night. I have to say, they are much better than I could have guessed. I can tell, though, that any argument about whether they can be killed by Isamu...

Re: Official Wizards Feedback Thread (Summary pg 1)

This point was briefly touched on in a post several pages back, but it's an important enough question that I think it merits repeating.

Paul, what impact (if any) will the WotC restructuring that...

Re: Dice Towers

I dunno, I still gotta go with vixentor games.

The towers at the site you linked to seem to be made of thicker board, but the vixentor towers have a lot of design detail, and seem to be less...

Just got my Vixentor Games dice tower in the mail today, and man, is it ever sweet!

I got the rusty tower model, and I'm looking forward to trying it out this weekend. It should definitely make...

Re: Crisis Core

I was actually pretty disappointed in FF7:CC.

The story is great, the graphics gorgeous, ant the pre-rendered visuals are breathtaking.

However, the gameplay was a little repetitive and...

Re: The Tragic and Exciting Future of Final Fantasy!

Well, even if they do stop making games with "Final Fantasy" in their title, it's not like they're going to stop making games that are, in all other respects, Final Fantasy games.

Look at Last...

Re: StarCraft The Board Game $47.97 or $55.96 shipped

Meh.

I got my VW a while back on eBay (TRU by me wasn't carrying it), and the TRU in my city only has one or two of the flag-bearers, anyway. I figure I might as well wait for a re-release or...

Re: StarCraft The Board Game $47.97 or $55.96 shipped

Actually, no. Although I fully expect others to, since I bought every booster my FLGS had on display. :p

I just want to say that I'm not judging anyone. You can't buy everything from FLGSs, and...

Re: StarCraft The Board Game $47.97 or $55.96 shipped

Remember before doing this that this particular game is sold in FLGSs. So, if you'd rather pay more to support the FLGS in your area, that is an option.

Re: Official Wizards Feedback Thread (Summary pg 1)

Also, Paul, even if it's too early to discuss set specifics, can you let us in on some design philosophies that WotC will apply to HeroScape going forward?

Re: Official Wizards Feedback Thread (Summary pg 1)

This story reminds me of an interesting theory I have about a demographic I'll refer to as the "non-traditional gamer" (gamers who are ager 45 and older). My theory is that they have a lower...
