Re: Dungeon Run - Coming Soon from Plaid Hat Games

HS scale? Interesting. I would have thought you scaled smaller to make it more compatible with other products.

Re: Always Outbid On ebay so...

Painting hexes all over works fine as long as you don't manhandle the paint job.

Heroquest for $50.

Well I grabbed a set with the intent of customization and so on. Very cool. As it shares some heritage with Scape and I had been talking about it some in other threads, I thought someone might be...

Re: Ren's Terrain Mods/Tutorials

I bought my supplies today and as I will be toying with Heroquest for a while, will be making different pieces that can be used for either but no tiles for HS. I will still have posts for what I've...

Re: WTH is Heroquest so expensive??

Gorgeous. Just picked up HQ. I was at the hobby store, prices on some stuff are outrageous. The D&D minis and HS D&D minis will go very nicely but not so sure I can't do better on price.

I was...

Re: RttFF or VW?

Oh hey, thanks man. I am about to jump back into customs but might actually try my hand with heroquest.\

If that's the case, I will still be posting different set pieces here though as they'll...

Re: RttFF or VW?

WOTC didn't. Hasbro did. I still remember when my wizards was bought by Hasbro. The stock changed dramatically to the oddest stuff and it only stayed open a couple of months after that.

Re: RttFF or VW?

NEITHER. Make the terrain, learn a skill set that will ensure years of new HS. That price is absolutely absurd.

Re: Ren's Terrain Mods/Tutorials

Well after chatting with the wife she'd actually like to paint minis so it seems I have the green light to get back to customizing quest. I will likely be making boards for other games and selling...

Re: WTH is Heroquest so expensive??

I was actually just looking through a bunch of PDFs I dld and it makes me smile. I still remember the old school art - reminds me of the lone wolf rpg books as well. The english really did nail that...

Re: WTH is Heroquest so expensive??

I have sourced a used copy of HQ which appears to be complete. Quite the deal too. I might flip it, but may keep it after I play it some and the nostalgia kicks in.

I need terrain - you can have the rest.

Well, at a cost heheh. Seriously though, I am considering buying a couple of SOTM masters and maybe the D&D, or perhaps just ordering some ROTV online.

I only want the terrain and rocks/walls...

Re: Ugh. Hex vs square grid.

Hit up the games store today. They have quite a lot of HS stuff in stock still and prices are not inflated. Reminded me how much larger the HS hexes are to usual, but damn normal mini size seems too...

Re: Ugh. Hex vs square grid.

Fair enough but I don't much care about how it translates to real life. I care about customizing terrain and what is more appealing. Dungeons are far easier on grid but outdoor simply should be hexes...

Ugh. Hex vs square grid.

Hex = no diagonal movement inconsistency and easier AOE attacks. Partial spaces left with room and buildings though.

Grid = simplicity for rooms, buildings. Not so organic for outdoor scenery...

Re: Cheapest terrain.

Hmmm. Just wondering if I should jump in an buy some terrain or come up with something myself. SotM is still cheap enough too, I recall there being a bit of terrain in there but how many hives do I...

Nice. Battle for the underdark is pretty cheap, how much terrain is in there?
