Re: Vydar soulbourg army

Yeah, I made that mistake with the Phantom Knights, only they're plus 3 is only against regular attacks...I was in for one nasty surprise...

Re: What is your Heroscape number?

I typically play with a core group of about 7 gamers, with a few more joining in once and a while, which ups the total. Then there are the two or three failed attempts at getting someone into...

Re: armies with the fun factor on high

Phantom Knights x3 210
Dividers x7 350
Total points: 560

Knights take out particularly difficult Ranged threats, Dividers steamroll. Think scalpel and battle-axe style fighting, Knights being...

Re: Anti-Major Q9 association

Honestly, while Q9 is extremely powerful, he's not unstoppable. When Q9 comes around flaunting his might, I simply roll with the punches. Eventually his defense luck will run out. I've taken him down...

Re: Books: What are you currently reading?

Zahn's a very good choice...only Star Wars I'll actually read (along with Karen Traviss) The Thrawn Trilogy is phenomenal.

I'm following my typical military history reading pattern, reading The...

Re: Classification Crossover: DnD > Heroscape Classic?

I definitely could see it happening, and as it's been said before, part of the appeal of Heroscape is the tremendous combining and usage of genres. We've seen the new goblin cutter units, and in my...

Re: Vydar soulbourg army

Agreed, both make excellent screens, but you get attack power and the chance of them dividing and coming back with dividers, so I'd lean more towards them. Then again, Deathreavers can be...

Re: How Much D2 are You Buying???

Definitely getting 3-4 Warforged, Heroes, and maybe a few Goblins. Warforged Soldiers are the unit I'm most excited about in this expansion, so they're definitely priority #1.

Wink Re: 570 Points, No Start Zone Limit

Excuse me, I can't help it if no one ever wants start zone limits, and us two are the only ones to take advantage of it. ;)

Re: what is the advantage...

On hilly maps, I can see the Warforged doing excellent. Pulling guys off of heights, and taking the high ground from them, taking glyphs, and a solid defense when taking the high ground will make...

Re: Warforged Soldiers Pre-Release Discussion Thread

Exactly...this makes the most sense as well. Besides, their special (which I find very intriguing) would not be near as effective or interesting if only one soldier could use it per turn.

Re: Worst squads

Honestly, I don't see why everyone picks on the Drudge so much. Though never my first pick, I've used Drudge in many games and had them perform well in the role I used them in. Granted, they rarely...

Re: New Guy's Soldiers, HELP WANTED!!

I agree with everyone else...starting off with units from the Starter sets always seems to be a good option with beginners, such as Q10, the Krav, Sonlen, Drake Alexander etc. They seem to be solid,...

Re: Do you use order markers?

Order Markers to me are extraordinarily important, and one of the things that adds strategy, tactics, and depth to Heroscape. However, I have played games with much younger players and sometimes they...

Re: Warforged Soldiers Pre-Release Discussion Thread

Mega-dittos. Definitely going to be fun on maps with plenty of heights. Not sure if they'd do as well on flatter maps though. Hmmm.

Re: What Bonding Squad fits you?

Axegrinders are definitely my favorite bonding unit. Somehow they just always tend to steamroll almost anything in their path. So much fun to use, unless of course you end up on a map where their...

Re: 600 Point Competitive Armies

Well, here's my current Marro build I've been using/playtesting:

Marro Hive 160
Marro Stingers x4 400
Marro Dividers x4 600

Yeah, it's simple, but I like it.

Re: If you could remove one unit from the game, what would it

I'd face all Stingers over Marvel any day...and this is coming from a guy who's OBSESSED with Stingers... just my 2 cents.
