Re: Wave 11 Boosters

Please tell me the ****'s don't equal PIRATE MONKEYS????
I, on the other hand, demand that the ***s mean PIRATE MONKEYS.

Unless they mean MUTANT WITCHES. In which case, carry...

Re: Wave 11 Boosters

Actually, speaking as someone who once had the dubious honor of having to be the network admin for a few different mid-sized corps and a university - a policy like that doesn't really exist to stop...

Re: Premature Pre??? PreRelease D&D Wave 2 Expansion Specula

Golems with feelings. Like Dorfl and the other golems from Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels.

Personally, I love warforged. I'd been wanting a workable D&D PC golem race since the Forgotten...

Re: Premature Pre??? PreRelease D&D Wave 2 Expansion Specula

What if one of the four figures was a huge figure instead of a large one?

(I don't know how I feel about that myself or if that even makes sense given the packaging, but I thought I'd throw that...

Re: Wave 11 Boosters

This is a good point - Pelloth is already an Arachnomancer and it would be kind of weird to have both Unique drow be the same thing. A priestess that used the arachnomancer figure would be a good...

Re: Wave 11 Boosters

Speaking thematically, the arachnomancer in D&D deals with spiders (as one might expect from the name). They summon spiders, throw webs, use poison, have spiders as pets and are generally spidery.

Re: Brandis Skyhunter Revealed at TotalCon

I hope you're exaggerating. If you really think all of WizKids management issues were a lesser problem in their demise than their use of translucent plastic ...

Re: Wave 11 Boosters

What do you mean by this? And I don't mean that confrontationally or sarcastically - I really don't know what you mean by a "thematic" difference in the sculpts between the elementals and, say, Krug...

Re: Wave 11 Boosters

Ha!

I was actually a mite disappointed when I read the power on the card because my thinking was along the lines of "you know, if they phrased that a little differently, they could have made it...

Re: Wave 11 Boosters

And see, when I read the air elemental card the phrase "moves onto a space" made me immediately assume that it didn't affect flying creatures because they don't move onto spaces, they pass over them...

I'm thinking he was worried about a wyvern placing a picked up figure in lava.
I guess if you had a map where the lava tiles didn't have any pieces surrounding them you...

Re: Wave 11 Boosters

If these packs show up at Wal*Mart I can almost guarantee that some impulsive D&D DMs will grab them off the shelves. They've got everything that certain portions of the D&D online community have...

Re: Wave 11 Boosters

Wow, I really surprised someone didn't jump on this. I would assume a Battle Mage is an update of the old Warmage class. Could one of you 4.0 guys clear this up?
The only "Battle Mage" I...

Re: Wave 11 Boosters

The only thing I don't like about it is that I don't think it should be a Common figure. I'd like to see that guy as an Uncommon or a Unique - he's Large sized and seems like a "leader" kind of...

Re: Wave 11 Boosters

Everything else is dead on, but this is not quite right. Eberron makes use of every class in the game. Eberron actually pretty much makes use of every element of D&D. Part of its mandate when it...

Re: Premature PreMarch PreRelease D&D Expansion Discussion

Or it could be a method of making sure they don't reveal the gender of the figure yet. If the text had said "herself" it would have pretty much narrowed it down to the Ghaele of Winter figure...

Re: Wave 11 Boosters

It's an educated guess based on the names. "Brandis Skyhunter" and "Sharwin Wildborn" are the kinds of stereotypical names one might expect for a Ranger and a Druid respectively. If you're already...

Re: Wave 11 Boosters

Thinking about it, the figures that conform to the idea of a Common figure (1 hit) and live in the water are kind of limited:

Bullywugs - figures are either really old or really too new to be in...

Re: Wave 11 Boosters

That's why I'd like to see it. A high defense character the forces a big gun ranged attacker to attack him instead of who the ranged player wants to attack would really force some different...

Re: Wave 11 Boosters

No alignment restrictions on paladins anymore (or on any class, really). They're "just" divine champions, not necessarily good ones. (Alignment is fairly meaningless in the new game system overall...

Re: Master Set 3 at Walmart.

If anyone is searching for sets in Columbus OH, there were 3 D&D Master sets on the shelf at the Wal*Mart on Bethel/Sawmill just yesterday. They also had space and a price for expansion packs next...

Re: Premature PreMarch PreRelease D&D Expansion Discussion

There are multiple kinds of Rangers in D&D these days. Syvarris definitely would fit in as an archer-style Ranger, but there are also the "two weapon" Ranger types (of which Drizzt is the archetype,...

Re: Premature PreMarch PreRelease D&D Expansion Discussion

Re: WotC "promised" classic waves of HS in the future.

Should it look profitable, I imagine WOTC could assemble a new lava set with a different name, different mix of lava tiles, and perhaps a new (most likely repainted) squad of figures.

If...

Re: WOTC Online Scenarios

Whoever came up with the idea/mechanic for Neutral characters gets a tip of my hat for a great idea. I wasn't so sure that the "dungeon crawl" motif would be strong enough to hold my gaming groups'...
