Re: The Book of Nilfheim
Nilfheim is one of my favorite huge figures for sure. Krug and Grimnak are the other two. I used to take him to tournaments even before Greenscales.

Sword Bow
Sword Bow
Sword Bow
Sword
Sword Special
Bow Special
(So sword is actually 5/6, and bow is 4/6, special is 2/6).
I don't recall the exact wording for old Gwalark, but Levitate in...

Re: Summoner Wars by Plaid Hat Games
I no longer have anything to do with the development. So far I've applied to help test expansions (as a regular grunt), and have played a bit of the app, including 4 losses to Waterd and 1 Win...

Re: Summoner Wars by Plaid Hat Games
I never played X Wing at a competitive level, but I was kind of surprised by how little some of the raw stats and maneuver dials actually changed. (I just have the Galactic Empire and an unopened...

Re: Summoner Wars by Plaid Hat Games
I disagree on the last point. The game has changed more significantly with respect to deckbuilding and the stats on units. This opened up the design space a bit and has made commons better. Have...

Menchi and that group came from California, I think... probably been awhile since they came though.

Re: Chicagoland Scapers Index
I still live in the area and have some of my collection left. I'd be down to play once things clear up a bit more, whenever that will be.

Re: Casters of Valhalla
Looking around a bit, it seems like I actually wrote at least 7 “OM” articles. 5 is in the competitive armies section and 6 and 7 are in my blog on this site.

Re: Casters of Valhalla
Also thought I'd comment quickly on something mentioned in this episode, about how cool it was that Stingers and Raelin are/were pretty cheap money-wise to get into competitive scape. Deathreavers...

Re: Remove one unrevealed Order Marker at random?
If there were any debate at my table, I'd put it to a blind d20 roll. If there were two OMs, 1-10 would be the one on the left, and 11-20 would be the one on the right. 3 OMs? 1-6, 7-12, 13-18,...

Re: The passing of Jim McMcMahon
I'm saddened by this one too... he was the kind of guy who'd give you the shirt off of his back and thank you for the opportunity to do so. Truly kind and generous.

I've shown up earlier for this than I ever have for a real tournament. I'm excited.

Re: 4th=10th
I think using a suiciding special attacker or hero killer is a viable strategy for the 4th at lower hex totals. It also helps smooth out the PK matchup, which is a good excuse for 10th over 4th...

Re: Casters of Valhalla
Warriors of Ashra were a popular build, so having a little bit of range or a special attack was good.

Re: 4th=10th
Agreed.
Disagreed. They get the same benefit from Raelin/Marcus/whoever. Only if you plan on running Raelin and end up facing a lot of melee and the point totals line up right, are the 10th...

This was back in 2008/2009 before Mogrimm was out and Valguard still suffered pretty badly from Scottie Pippen syndrome. I ran 4x Romans + NGS + MBS and weird techy stuff like Izumi Samurai and...

Re: Casters of Valhalla
I never really played Raelin with Romans... I may have to try it out. I will say that when I ran Romans in Heat of Battle a couple times, I did not play Marcus.
