There are booths for buying generic tickets, near the main entrance of the convention center. There will be an early rush of people picking up badges, but after that it's no big deal to walk up and...

C3G and C3V are not the same thing. Your experience selling one would not be your experience selling the other. C3V has always been designed for competitive play.
