Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
Sonic 2: it was like Sonic 1, just with more of everything. I wouldn't say these movies are necessarily good, but they are somehow much better than they have any right to be. Definitely worth...

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
A friend had me watch Zardoz for our occasional "bad movie night". It's a lot more strange than it is bad, with a lot of very interesting ideas buried under all its horrible 70's-isms. Kind of...

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
Perfect Blue was certainly a unique experience. I think I liked it quite a bit, even if it got a little too needlessly surreal after awhile. It'll certainly stick with me if nothing else. I do wish...

Remake 6/10s not 10/10s
Event Horizon is on Netflix right now. It's decent but its amazing premise begs for a better execution. I heard they're adapting it into an Amazon miniseries so perhaps something can come out of...

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
Joker was pretty great. Extraordinarily well acted and directed. Some have called it Taxi Driver Lite and, while true, that doesn't take too much away from its quality. In a post-Avengers Endgame...

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
Velvet Buzzsaw is an embarrassing disaster of obvious satire and hilariously bad PG-level horror. Massively disappointing after Nightcrawler from the same writer and director.

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
Creed 2 was pretty good. It was a pretty by-the-numbers sequel, but I still enjoyed it. Acting was great as was the cinematography. If you liked the first one as much as I did I'd check it out.

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
Mission Impossible: Fallout is just as good as MI:4 and MI:5 and the best action movie of the year thus far. I can't recommend these movies enough, as hard as it is to believe that the Mission...

Check out Hereditary if yer on a horror kick, Hahma. Best scary movie I've seen in a long time, and I'm pretty darn hard to please when it comes to the genre. ...

Hot Fuzz is amazing.
Speaking of Solo, this weekend I decided to watch Deadpool 2. Liked it quite a bit, better than the first. I thought I might since it turned everything from the first one up...

Harsh opinions incoming!!
Having had time to dwell on it over the months (hard to be objective after the high of a first viewing), I have come to the conclusion that The Last Jedi is by far the worst Star Wars film I've seen...

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is a mess of both great moments and terribly embarrassing ones. It kind of reminds me of Revenge Of The Sith in that regard. I still kind of liked that one better though, and...

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
IT was quite good. Jump scares aren't my preferred form of horror, but if you have to do it at least do it well, and that's what this one did.
Lake Mungo was a fairly creepy little flick styled...

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
Wonder Woman was okay. Certainly better than other DC movies we've had in the last few years. The ending devolved into compete schlock though, and the moral message seemed rather confused with...

Alien: Covenant. Fans of Alien will probably be pleased. Fans of Prometheus will likely feel disappointed. As someone who likes both this movie was satisfying yet lacking at the same time. Like a...

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
Get Out was okay. The idea is pretty absurd and funny (without delving into spoilers), but I kinda wish it went more over the top with it. I guess they didn't want it to be a straight-up comedy...

Not terribly attached.
I quite enjoyed the new Ghost In The Shell. It wasn't great but I still liked it. It sacrificed a lot of the original movie's philosophy for the sake of a more streamlined Hollywood film, but I...

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
Both John Wick Chapter 2 and Lego Batman are very good. Neither were as good as John Wick 1/The Lego Movie but still worth theater price nonetheless. It's a good weekend to go to the movies. It's a...
