That seems pretty straight forward to me, the cards that would be removed from the game may instead go to the Upside-down deck. Is it specific enough at this point or does it require more definition?

Changing the species completely makes it shut down entire comps for a whole round like mutants. On the discord server it was suggested to aboud that and add the species instead.

Yes, the idea is that the spell polymorphs a target for a round giving them an additional species.
I'll update it to unique hero only to avoid mass polymorphing :)
