Yeah for the 2 plastic inserts I have they are very thin plastic for sure. I can see them breaking easy.

Okay I was wondering about the twist ties because I see a few holes in the trays where twist ties may have been used to hold them in place.

I have plastic trays in both my Heroes or Laur and Road...

Just got the box for ROTV and Heroes of Laur from Warrior Priest.

When they was new did they use twist ties to hold the figures in place? Did ROTV have any insert or trays ?

Yeah when I said inserts I was refering to say the plastic trays/cardboard that hold stuff in place.

That is what I have been reading that they are comparable in size. The first waves was more in the 28-32mm scale and the later ones was more closer to the 25mm scale. But seen a couple next to each...

thanks to the link provided by mac122 I found where the extra terrain tiles went with.

Minutemen and Wolves - (2) 2hex sand
Heroes of Nostralund - (4) 1hex sand

thank you mac122 that link will help me for sure, at the bottom of that page you linked was also the Terrain in each Expansion -- The Definitive List which I think was the needed list

I'm still figuring out what all tiles, accessories, etc was in each kits. But so far it looks like
