Re: Sports: NFL

I think you missed the point.
"I think the criticism they've gotten for the game is totally out of line and by a lot of people who I don't think are anywhere near even qualified to be commenting on...

I think this quote (http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/12277589/criticism-seattle-seahawks-play-call-line-bill-belichick-new-england-patriots-says) from Belichick sums it up.

Re: Sports: NFL

Wow what a game.

I'm still shaking my head over how it ended. I just kept thinking that this could not be happening again.

Wow, Packers putting it to Seattle so far. A lot of game left to play, but wow.

Edit: and about 30 seconds after I post Aaron Rodgers throws a pick

Re: Sports: NFL

So I'm actually pretty disappointed that Denver lost. Even though I feel like the Colts are a better match-up for the Pats, I would rather have seen Peyton come to town again. I hope he comes back...

Re: Sports: NFL

Here is why Harbaugh was upset during the game, and this is also why (as I observed earlier here, or maybe it was somewhere else) that officials will stand over the ball to stop the snap so defenses...

Re: Sports: NFL

My question then would be...

How can people on a board game web site possibly have any clue at all as to what the intention of the competition committee was when making a rule?

I'm a fan of...

How is running a legal play "circumventing the intention of the rules?"

Re: Sports: NFL

Baltimore is exactly the team that I didn't want to see coming to NE next week.

Regardless of record, they always bring it when they play the Pats. Pats have a 10-3 home record in the playoffs and...

Re: Sports: NFL

I haven't watched many Bears games, but it was like you could almost predict what was coming next. Wide reciever screen time after time after time.

You could tell that the Lions picked up on it as...

Re: Sports: NFL

Nice win for the Pats. Manning had big numbers, but he never looked like he was in control of the game. Pats D managed enough plays to hold them down while Brady looked sharp. Also nice to see Gronk...

Re: Sports: NFL

Great first half for the Pats. They'll need to keep their foot on the gas though. Peyton has come back on them before.

Re: Sports: NFL

Big game today between the Pats and Broncos. I think that NE needs the game more than Denver though. If they lose they will pretty much be out of the race for the #1 seed, plus their schedule is...

Re: Sports: NFL

Absolutely true.

I'm the first to admit I have blinders on when it comes to my teams.

It's much easier to be objective when you don't have a vested interest.

Re: Sports: NFL

I'm not going to disagree at all about calls at the end of games, but I will disagree about that particular call being questionable.

A Pats fan complaining about the refs? Welcome to the world of every team the Pats have played in the last several years.
Just imagine how much I'd be complaining if the Pats were losing!

Re: Sports: NFL

I'm excited about Revis. He's as good as it gets at the position. As long as he stays healthy, the defense will be improved.

I'd hate to see big Vince go to, but it looks like he has been...

Looks like another big Patriots free agent is bolting for the Broncos. Aqib Talib is heading there.

Not sure how I feel. On the one hand, he was great early last year. Then he got hurt which he...

Re: Sports: NFL

In 71, it would be terrifying, but in today's NFL it's extremely tough to keep teams together for long stretches. A lot of players on the Seahawks made a ton of cash last night and a good portion of...

No, unfortunately, he plays like Peyton when he's hungry. Eli Manning's postseason record is 8-3; Peyton's, with all his gaudy stats, is 11-12.
Well, if we're going to get...
