Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

Hey, everybody. I've appreciated the chance to review all your wonderful custom creations-- I'm in awe of the time and care you all clearly put into the process. Unfortunately, I haven't been able...

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

I vote NO with the others, considering the availability.

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

What's interesting about the lack of Wyrmling bonding on the card is that it can still be the recipiant of the bonding, it just can't be the initiator-- that would make for some interesting order...

I'm with the crew re: availability. NO to review Jake Alexander.

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

There is a way you can convince us: tell us the results of your playtesting. What role does he play in an army? What strategies work well with him? What units work well with him? What units does...

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

I'm very skeptical the Templar Infantry are worth only 50 points. I have a higher opinion of the Templars and Sir Dupuis than most, I suppose, but if they had only two of the three powers on their...

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

I like the basic changes, but it definitely needs to be playtested and refined a bit before coming here, I think.

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

I don't have a background in customs like the other SoV judges, which probably colors my perspective. I think there are a lot of folks who feel a bit iffy about using custom units because they may...

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

Thanks the submission, Tickle, I really like this unit and I'd love to see them resubmitted after some tweaking.

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

Okay, now I'm confused. What do you mean by "permanently"? Certainly you don't mean that once any opponent's figure engages a skeleton archer that the archers can't attack the rest of the game. Do...

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

These guys look interesting. I can see D_S' concerns-- a screen of 1 defense units can still be a very effective screen just because it limits the mobility of the advancing army (I've used Venoc...

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

We do playtest them in order to review them, but they should be thoroughly playtested prior to being submitted (as far as I'm concerned). If you haven't actually playtested them, then they're just...

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

He looks interesting, though I'm wary of the proliferation of units that require extra markers-- how will we distinguish these markers from other markers? Are they a different color? Do they...

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

Aside from the issues listed above, I'm not a big fan of units having extra counters that need to be placed on their cards. I vote NO to review Slavi'Vaen.

I wanna play the Beaker Sneakers! YES...

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

I'd like to switch my YES vote to a NO vote for reviewing the Beakface Sneaks. I don't think Super Bogue's interpretation of the power follows the the most straight-forward interpretation of the...

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

Well, if you didn't move with him, then you "moved zero" with someone else, right? And you can only attack with that one, right?

Even if it does work the way you are reading it, it could be handy...

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

The Beak Sneaks move after rolling attack dice and the Deathreavers move after rolling defense dice. Since roll rolling attack dice is before rolling defense dice, wouldn't the Beak Sneaks move...

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

Once again:

And I agree, the unit looks too expensive. But I like what gap you're trying to fill here, though. Rechets need a boost of some sort. And he's like a more durable Marcu.

I vote NO...

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

For Shiftus, first off:

Other than that, the language needs to be simplified and otherwise cleaned up. And what happens if this guy is negated by Morsbane? He has no stats of his own, so is he...
