Ronin's interpretation is as I have always known it as well. When you choose a Special Attack as your action you have chosen that path INSTEAD of a normal attack and you can't jump to another path...

I agree here. For one I think the 2-4 record looks worse than it is. The close loss could have easily been a close win and his record would have been 3-3. Not saying that 360 isn't worth a shot...
