Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop

The Merciful Major is a good example of how, if you have executed a design perfectly, an unexpected wrinkle can be a positive. It adds a little curiosity to the design. But you only get to do that if...

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop

If you're going to have a merciful Soulborg, like a valiant frost giant, you better have every other detail nailed down perfectly. A perfect mini for the theme, the perfect theme for the mechanics,...

Yes! Of course you are! I love that time, when you’re still discovering the personality of your character. Please tell us the story as you go.

Also I have the most fun when I’m making my...

Re: Letters From the Front

Cool! My favorite podcast is a live-play Pathfinder campaign. It's called Glass Cannon; I'm sure many of our other friends already know it.

So, spill the beans. . . Tell us about your PC. . .

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop

I echo Scytale's concerns about the design, also, though I didn't get that far in my comment about the theme.

A good custom should present something interesting or challenging in the way it's...

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop

I'd buy that if he wasn't Jandar.

I get that the Tarn Viking Warriors are Jandar, from Earth. But I don't think it's fair to the idea of a mythological frost giant, whether an older version of a...

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop

Isn't that mini's coloring and equipment strongly indicating frost giant, instead of really big viking? With the pale coloring, white trim, and white hair?

There are interesting elements to the...

Re: Letters From the Front

Back to my brother's campaign, in which we are a bunch of level 7 D&D 5E characters, generally trying to stem some massive rising evil, and specifically bumming around Daggerford.

Del ~ My...

Re: What Board Game Are You Currently Playing?

I love the look of Comanauts, GB. Elsewhere, Scapemage asked about things to look for at PAX. That is the game I'd be most interested to check out, for sure.

Re: C3V/SoV Question Dump

That is amazing for prepainted metal minis. I look forward to seeing what you do with them. I suggest you don't delay, because that supply could dry up.

Though if your design is good enough, you...

Re: C3V/SoV Question Dump

Submit to the SoV?

I love to see the work of the customs creators on this site. And I'm not an SoV judge, who gets to decide whether to review a candidate, though I do get a vote (or two) later in...

"Firebolg"? Do you mean Firbolg? Like this (https://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=33415) guy, serving Einar? What's your question?

We still haven't gone to metal minis. I don't anticipate we would do that soon.

. . . but nothing is stopping you from designing units from whatever home world your heart desires. Isadora, Grut, Earth, Mars, Betelgeuse, whatever.

Re: What Board Game Are You Currently Playing?

I know our own bunjee will be running the Restoration Games booth. I haven’t played Fireball Island but I’ve seen it and it looks great on the table. I don’t know what else they’ll be showing.

Re: C3V/SoV Question Dump

Good examples of minis for the C3V are the ones we've used.

The judges can speak for themselves about mini numbers for the SoV, and a review of discussions on that point occur from time to time...

Re: Flash_19's Maps: New Map 11/7/18!

It looks like a map I would choose for a tournament, and I agree with rednax that the ladders are a nice change. I also like the mixture of both columns and trees as LoS blockers; often it's one or...

It's a cheap mini, or it was, and they are lots of fun. I hope people enjoy playing with them.
