Re: Velenne's Tournament Maps and Fun Scenarios- 1 Last Map

Hi --- just wanted to say that you've been one of my favorite map makers. And I would be thrilled if you have time to provide PDFs of your most recent ones---I don't have a Windows computer and thus...

And congratulations, j-Bird!

Is it possible for pdfs to be generated for all the VirtualScape entries, or at least the winning one? They are otherwise unreadable on a Mac.

It works for me---on the latest version of Camino even, which is a browser for the Mac that uses the same Mozilla libraries that Firefox does.

Definitely an interface of some kind is needed. I...

An XML document type for Heroscape scenarios is a wonderful idea---getting some kind of shared format, rather than the current binary ones, which is also human readable and can be fixed in a text...

So... will it support the Mac? Or are we all left out in the cold again? (VirtualScape has never run well for me on either Mac or the Linux emulators, e.g., it pops up a window that looks okay, and...

I replaced the pillar with the four trees from a RtFF. I think it's better since flying units can't sit on the top of the pillars, which gives a bit too much advantage to flyers with aura effects. ...

Hellfire Pass

Nice-looking, I rather like the volcano in the corner, but the map seems one-sided, favoring the blue team, with their easier access to the big green hill. I could be wrong---the...

Unnamed 2

A nice skirmish map with cover at the edges, accessible by road and so easy access for the opposing side. Good use of trees in the middle, and I like the triple-cross road.

Sacred...

Volcanic Vent

Nice demonstration of the ability to change the textures in VirtualScape. I wish the real lava field tiles looked like the lava field tiles here...

As for the map itself...

Winmap

Unnamed Map 2

A very symmetrical map, and will require two master sets due to the dual small ruins in the middle. If all the tress are height 11, then this requires 2 RTTF. I have nothing...

Links to the Landscape PDfs?

Landscape PDFs don't include the trees when they render the 3D version of the map. I'd like to bulid them and take a look that way, then it's fair versus the photos and the VirtualScape 3d renders.

The Wave 6 archers are probably ashigaru, who were decked out in samurai-ish armor, but were not themselves samurai---they were common soldiers. So I speculate they are most likely a common squad,...
