"Cannot move farther away" will not work. Heroscape doesn't exist on a simple 2-dimensional grid; there are actually multiple ways to count...

Agreed Taunt may have some odd interactions at times, but so do lot's of powers in the right situations. As written, the theme is pretty simple, clear and 95% of the time will be used without it...

I do think it's more complicated than Hulk or Tor-Kul-Na. (Moving other player's units always will be.) I definitely do not think it would have fit in Rise of the Valkyrie. That doesn't make it wrong...

It was decided long ago that "place" = move. Anything that moves a figure on the board, by any means, is considered a "move." It can be a pain at times, but it is what it is.

Lowering defense of a unique melee squad isn't all that much different than auto-destroying one, really. The only thing these guys can hope to rely on once they charge in is their high defense.

Personally, I think we should try to get away from counters at all. It's a complexity that should only be used when the design requires it, not make a design to use them.
