Re: Fan Fic Contest - Are you the best writer?

No entries have been read yet, so you are free to do that for now. Just give me a holler if Ryguy posts and you still need to edit.

Re: Fan Fic Contest - Are you the best writer?

Fair enough! Fwiw I should have something submitted within days/weeks, not months, if that helps.[/QUOTE]

Re: Fan Fic Contest - Are you the best writer?

No deadline. We've had trouble with dropping attendance, and have taken to simply judging when we have no more incoming entries (and have something to judge). Feel free to throw your hat in the ring!...

Re: Fan Fic Contest - Are you the best writer?

Use your best judgement. If you think it will make the story better, I'll allow it. I'll bump the word limit to 11000, which should cover a couple hundred words just fine.

Re: Fan Fic Contest - Are you the best writer?

A few hours, right... more like a few days. Ahem, sorry for the tardiness.

Re: Fan Fic Contest - Are you the best writer?

I'm glad it worked, because I felt like the letter format killed the tension quite a bit. In the outline, I was trying to really build up the enmity between the two parties and specifically the...

Re: Fan Fic Contest - Are you the best writer?

Well, in the spirit of resurrecting this contest, I have an actual real live entry. EL submitted something several months ago, so technically he should have won by default, but... the prompt is still...

Re: Fan Fic Contest - Are you the best writer?

I'm pretty rusty with one-shot short stories these days, but I'm always down to throw my hat in the ring.

Re: APOSTLE'S CREED - a zombie story

Well my thoughts on the prose - as in the 'flowery language' for lack of a better term - comes down to what I originally said:

I love flowery language as much as the next guy, but in my...

Re: APOSTLE'S CREED - a zombie story

I would submit to you this question: what is the purpose of a description? To enable the reader to see what is happening in his head with more ease. Let me therefore say that - save for a handful of...
