Re: Arcane Legions
Yeah, I finally got people to play a couple of small, quick games and had a lot of fun with it. It's quite flavorful, forces hard decisions, and features plenty of carnage if you like taking figures...

Re: Arcane Legions
Just as an update, we did not indeed play AL--I'd bought a different board game as a gift for one of the guys who came, and so he wanted to play that. By the time we finished that and unwrapped all...

Re: Arcane Legions
I appreciate the comment, but I think I'm fine. Prepainted is already assembled, and I opened all the boosters last night, so things will be fairly usable. I'm not sure if we'll do Arcane Legions or...

Re: Arcane Legions
I don't suppose anyone here would have the "fixed" unit cards for the Cyclops and Jorugumo units? Those were the included cards that required more figures than were included in the boosters.

Re: Arcane Legions
I pulled the trigger, but I think I have collector's issues. It's probably an addiction.
I got all pre-painted stuff, too (save the starter, obviously), and it's supposed to get here today. I...

Re: Alabama!
Not particularly close for anyone in this thread, I'm afraid. Everyone so far's in the northern half of the state.
Maybe if someone was in Dothan, but I don't know of anyone.
(But yeah,...

Re: Alabama!
Oldish thread is old.
However, when I was active on here, I sought other Alabama players (believe IAmBatman was about the only one at the time, and he was in Tuscaloosa to my Florence).

Re: Totally bummin' here.....
I think I've played twice since moving, which was 10 months ago. But I'm a huge board game nerd in general, so I frequently have new things that have to hit the table. Still, I could never give up...

Re: Risk Legacy
That does seem kind of long. I think all of ours have been under an hour except for the last one (Game 6), which took about an hour and a half. We've now opened three packets (Minor Cities, Player...

Re: Risk Legacy
Nice write-up on BGG. I notice you opened packets a bit sooner than you'd expected, though. :D How'd you get someone eliminated in the first go? Was everyone playing too cautiously?
I think I'm...

Re: Risk Legacy
One nice thing is how "organic" the game feels. We've opened one envelope so far, and the pace at which you get new stuff seems pretty appropriate. And of course you're always changing the board at...

Re: Risk Legacy
Bit of a bump, but this game is so good. I've played 3 games so far, and after each one I can't wait to play another one.
Thanks to my wife for my Christmas gift, although I did tell her this is...

Don't suppose you'd be willing to just let us here have first crack at the terrain..?
Thanks for the heads-up, though. 'Twas a nice collection.

Re: The Book of Siege
The thing is, the X is an order marker (yeah, Shiori's still a figure). The difference is that it's not normally revealed, but with Siege and Evar it is.

Re: The Book of Siege
So where does the "before" come in, then?
I mean, Siege's card says "When revealing a numbered order marker, you may also" [emphasis added] reveal your X marker. I, and I would think others, think...

Re: The Book of Siege
Yeah, Step 2 seems pretty clear for me. Ana's power is explicit that it happens before any other special powers, which should include Crag of Steel. Especially considering that CoS is a special power...

Re: The Book of Siege
After reading the cards, it seems like it should work. The first healing takes place before you reveal the "X," and Ana's power doesn't mention anything about turn-taking, only revealing. So using...
