Re: Fan Fic Contest - Are you the best writer?

FYI, the story I was going to write ended up being scrapped. I was going for a twist, but as happened with Utgar, the person who knew what was going on was starting to sound like a way better PoV...

Re: Kaya: Vendetta

If you're a pantser/discovery writer - meaning you have only a minimal outline and discover most of the story as you write - this is absolutely true. The first draft is almost always a mess, and just...

Almost done assembling it. Planning on writing the outline today and whacking out some final issues.

Re: The Prompt

Word limit 10000. Let me know if that's been done too recently and I can reroll it.

I'll see what I can come up with. Do we need to...

Re: Kaya: Vendetta

Just to prove my point, I went back and reread the first chapter, and am going to rate this a solid 7. The only issues it has are some random minor grammar things, and dialogue which seems perhaps a...

Ha, go for it. Were passed the deadline I think. Id like to challenge TGRF to battle though. Been a while since he and I crossed wits.[/QUOTE]

Re: Kaya: Vendetta

Don't be too hard on yourself. An author is always his worst critic. If I listened to half of my criticisms on my own work, you'd probably never have seen it.

The important thing is just to keep...

Re: Kaya: Vendetta

Hey, great job! I would recommend self-publishing. You do everything yourself (including marketing), but that means you make a lot more than traditional publishing. You also avoid the minefield known...

Hmm. A word up for multiple interpretations. I'll see what springs to mind.

Hit the deck... cut the deck... hands on deck...

Re: Drunkenly Reviewing Every Low-Rated & Unranked Fiction h

Unfortunately, I made the rule long ago that an author can't rate their own fiction. The ratings are always too biased in one direction or the other, and it would be unfair to start counting them...

If that's an actual rating I'll take it. ;)

Re: Drunkenly Reviewing Every Low-Rated & Unranked Fiction h

I haven't been on to defend myself due to a bout of flu. But I'm back now (mostly), so let the disclaimers flow!

First off, your review of Soul of Calradia actually got me fairly interested in it....

Re: Drunkenly Reviewing Every Low-Rated & Unranked Fiction h

Tornado On that note, since you're the only other active person here who's posted in my personal challenge, I'd welcome any ratings you might have for the individual stories. If you can recall them. ...

Re: Drunkenly Reviewing Every Low-Rated & Unranked Fiction h

Well if it stumps you again you can always try Alastair/Masochist. As far as I'm aware the thread is still open. :D

As for individual ratings for the work on there: 6, 8, 9 in order.

Re: Drunkenly Reviewing Every Low-Rated & Unranked Fiction h

Well the origin of that title was from the competition, where you made a prompt to write about a C3V unit. Pulled in a ton of people from C3V, resulting in the highest turnout ever for a prompt. But...

Re: Drunkenly Reviewing Every Low-Rated & Unranked Fiction h

Is this really a problem? I've been doing these epilogues in nearly everything I write, practically since I began. Sometimes it's called an epilogue, sometimes there too much of it and it's the last...

Re: TGRF's Tales of Valhalla

In light of TAF deciding to drunkenly make the rounds of unrated fictions and bless them with a number from 1-10, I have decided to bolster my chances with him and add some of my better entries to...

Re: Drunkenly Reviewing Every Low-Rated & Unranked Fiction h

Not sure how you keep these so funny time and time again, but well done once more. Although I've got to say... I don't believe traipse is a British word. It's origin is uncertain, and I've certainly...

I do applaud your effort to stick with it. I certainly wouldn't have lasted this long. You're doing some good - if drunken - work here, keeping the fiction forum alive. Keep it up!
