Re: Rectangular C3V-SoV cards, artscow versions, Dec 25, 201

I don't know whether you're still looking for typos (or whether you've found this one or not), but I noticed the following this morning. On the Vulcanmech Incendiborgs, the Redundant Systems ability...

Re: HoME Brainstorming Thread

This is also my thinking.
My Middle Earth knowledge is extremely limited, and only from the movies, but I believe the hobbits should strictly be an augmentation to a force list, and not primary...

Re: HoME Brainstorming Thread

Can you explain? What does it mean to move past a figure? Isn't that Disengage?
Yep, that's my bad.
I missed this one, and Disengage would probably be what I was thinking of....

Re: HoME Brainstorming Thread

Just to keep the ball rolling, my limited knowledge opinion would be the following:

(For Merry)
Suggested Stats
Life: 4
Move: 5
Range: 1
Attack: 2
Defense: 3
Size: SMALL 3

Re: Amon Hen

Yeah, I realize four sets of each is approaching the top end of feasible maps for most. I've got a bunch, though, and it was hard trimming the initial map layout back to just that. :)

The idea...

Here's a version of Amon Hen:

Re: HoME Brainstorming Thread

I'm sorry underling, but I don't think the way that other games seeks to represent the hobbits has any bearing on how we should do it.
I mostly agree with you. That being said, whenever I'm...

Virtualscape sharing question

I thought I'd throw this out there for anyone who uses the Virtualscape program to create battlefields.
I've created a version of Amon Hen based on GW's map in the tabletop skirmish game.
I added a...

Re: HoME Brainstorming Thread

This is more just a general question, but should any of the hobbits have more than two attack or defense dice? The reason I'm asking is that once you start getting to three or more dice, to me that...

Re: HoME Design Thread

The only problem with having SAs like these is that you have to track what two stats are boosted for a turn, and then those boosted stats can change from turn to turn.
The word for this is...

Re: HoME Design Thread

For the sake of being able to move forward I'd say the following.

Keep the number of SAs at three. These guys (the heroes of Middle Earth) are supposed to be special. Every figure in the game has...

Re: HoME Design Thread

This will have to be up to a vote. From the Brainstorming thread, there are several people who think a ranged normal attack is better--at least from a gameplay point of view. I'd like others to...

Re: HoME Design Thread

Alrighty, it's posted, so I'm assuming you're asking for it (suggestions, that is...) :)

#1
I still view the SAs as the magic, so reduce the range to 1. This represents Gandalf swinging a staff...

Thanks WK...
This definitely helps with trying to remember what SAs have been kicked around.

Re: HoME Brainstorming Thread

I've got a quick suggestion/question...
It sounds like most everyone is in reasonable agreement on what Gandalf's base stats should be. The "range 1 versus range x" thing can always be worked out...

Re: HoME Brainstorming Thread

Based on the process the first post in this thread describes, my newbie opinion would be to go ahead and put it in the voting thread.
My guess is that most designs offered in this thread will...

Re: HoME Brainstorming Thread

I propose we move this version of Gandalf to design (unless someone else wants to take ownership of Gandalf).

Note to Underling: the ranged attack represents a magical attack (the same way that...

Re: HoME Brainstorming Thread

I'll definitely defer to the experts here, but I just have a quick question.
What is the logic in giving his attack dice a range of more than one?

Unfortunately, it's not the right scale -- while 'dwarf-like' in form, he's at least as tall as the Master of the Hunt.
I've read through some of the posts, but not all of them.
I thought I'd post what Sabertooth Games had for Gandalf the Grey in the Combat Hex game from a few years ago.
I don't suggest using their...

I know I'm extremely late to the discussion, but I thought I'd add a few comments anyway.

Re: VirtualScape 1.070 available

The answer to this is probably buried somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. What's the best way to include the 3D render in the PDF document? Everything else seems to be working correctly for me....
