Re: HeroScape is coming back!

Again - with too much time on my hands, doing some more interwebby searches:

From Quora.com:
What does it mean when someone says goodnight Irene?
In the 1940's and 1950's, Goodnight Irene...

Re: HeroScape is coming back!

Because I have too much time on my hands, I looked up the meaning of the name Irene:

Irene is a feminine name of Greek origin that means “peace,” derived from the Greek word eirēnē of the same...

Decided on the painted versions and got one of each. Thanks for the discount code - at least saved the 10%.

Re: Question Dump: Post Your Questions Here.

I don't have the box art work scanned, but I do have some of the wallpaper images that Hasbro put out back in the day. They are saved in my gallery. For me they are on pages 11 and 24 (may be...

Re: Does Anyone Draft Anymore?

When we've done large games/maps (usually teams of two with 4 teams, so 8 people), we've used a hybrid draft. We pre-assemble a pool of smaller armies (~ 1/4th of the total point allotment for a...

Re: Your Heroscape "Origin" Story

In 2005, my son (12 at the time) was at a friend's house for a sleepover birthday party. His friend had received a ROTV set for his birthday and the group of them played it most of the night. My son...

Re: Increasingly Fragile Terrain

The GenCon/ScapeCon terrain is starting to show its age. We lose a few water tiles each year (these are the solid blue tiles), the last two years have lost one 24 hex each year, and one of the 7...

Re: Fortress Door vs.

The problem with melee squad (range 1) units is that the the door only has two adjacent hexes (assuming you don't also have figures on the inside of the door - which if you did, you could just open...

Re: Fortress Door vs.

Interesting question - It could be done in one order marker if you had good rolls with a heavily wounded Krug and the added bonus of Khosumet behind him (I know this isn't technically in the...

Re: Cold Blast 2023

The cold hit us yesterday in the Indiana, but not below zero (most areas around us had single digit lows and highs in the teens). It's 17 this morning with a high this afternoon a balmy 40.

Re: Age of Annihilation - Backer Trend and Discussion

I wonder if this is primarily pointing at the Magic 30th anniversary boosters that were announced at $1,000?

This is something about corporate leadership I don’t get. If something is working and...

Re: Heroscape 2nd Edition is here!

My favorite so far -- bears, paladins, armor (high defense?), melee (don't see any range weapons) -- what's not to like. Also assuming Jandar and polar bears based on the name.

Did good Dad_Scaper.

True. But if, say, a bearded Clockwork Combine critter had glasses, that Mr. Dyer could be a more obvious matchup than Dyer's Hellforge. (I never met--let alone played the game with--the man in...

Re: Heroscape 2nd Edition is here!

We've played custom "atmospheric" glyphs in our games (e.g., high winds (grounds all flyers), fog rolls in (cuts all range in half)) - I'd like to see something like this, but I'm just happy HS is...

At this point, I'm a maybe. I can only afford to go to either ScapeCon or GenCon, but not both (being retired limits some expenditures) and haven't decided which yet.

I'll still provide the...
