Character Bio - Kyle Rayner is a top member of the Green Lantern Corps from Earth. After the rest of the Corps was destroyed by Parallax, he alone was selected to bear the last power ring and carry on the title. Although he acted alone for many years, he was instrumental in the Corps being reformed. After serving as a host for the Ion entity and as a member of the Justice League, his skill level gave him a position as an Honor Guard, only behind the Guardians in the chain of command of the Green Lantern Corps.

NAME = GREEN LANTERN
SECRET IDENTITY = KYLE RAYNER

SPECIES = HUMAN
UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO
CLASS = OFFICER
PERSONALITY = CREATIVE

SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5

LIFE = 4

MOVE = 5
RANGE = 1
ATTACK = 2
DEFENSE = 2

POINTS = 300

GREEN POWER BATTERY 4
Start the game with 4 green Battery Markers on this card. Add one to this Green Lantern's Move, Range, Attack, and Defense numbers for each green Battery Marker on this card.

GREEN POWER SHIELD
Anytime this Green Lantern or an adjacent, friendly figure is attacked by an opponent's figure and at least 1 skull is rolled, instead of rolling defense dice normally, you may remove one green Battery Marker from this card and ignore that attack.

SUSTAINED WILLPOWER
If a Green Construct you control is adjacent to this Green Lantern, an opponent's figure cannot attack this Green Lantern with a normal or special attack. If an adjacent Green Construct you control is attacked with a normal or special attack and receives enough wounds to be destroyed, you may roll the 20-sided die and add 1 to the roll for each green Battery marker on this card. If you roll a 17 or higher, the Green Construct takes no damage.

SUPER STRENGTH

FLYING

My only suggestions are for Green Creation Special Attack.
First one - could we call it Green Construct Special Attack? Seems more Green Lanterny ...
Second one - I think you might need to up the attack on that to 5 or even 6, otherwise people are going to be very reluctant to pull a marker off his card to use that attack. Battery markers are just too valuable.

Looks good Spidey. Pretty much agree with Bats in the comment department. :D

I don't mind changing it, but I thought Creation seemed more Artistic. :2cents:

I am absolutely fine with that, I just didn't want him to be overpowered. I would rather he be weaker and need powering up than we need to figure out how to depower him. (How times change, huh? ;) )

Same here, I like it! :)

Re: Green Lantern - Kyle Rayner - Design Phase

Yeah, the thing with the special attack that concerns me, though, isn't power level - it's how much it will actually be used.
In its current version, no way do I ever use it because I want the Battery markers for defensive purposes too much.
Even if you bumped the attack to 6 it might work against him to use the power as often as not because he's dropping all of his stats by one and losing an opportunity to completely cancel out a single attack both in return for the attack.
It'd better be a pretty good attack for me to sacrifice all of that, and I think a double special attack of 6 is about where that starts to even become a decision for me. :-) (Though, even then, not until he's already lost a marker or two, lowering his normal attack enough to make that special attack tempting).

Re: Green Lantern - Kyle Rayner - Design Phase

OK, you've convinced me. Changed SA to Attack 6.

Hmm ... that's weird, it's not updated for me yet. Glad I convinced you, though. :-)
If he's coming up too powerful in playtesting, we can look for other places to tweak - maybe lower his base attack by one.

I like "Construct" way better than "Creation", too.

I think his personality gets the creative aspect of his character across well enough. :-)

Re: Green Lantern - Kyle Rayner - Design Phase

On that, I know you were aware of this, but for others I was also considering making him a Fearless Artist as opposed to a Creative Officer. I think Fearless Artist may be better because I think John as an architect would be a Creative Officer. I would like them to at least have some small difference here too. (In addition to a third power past Power Battery and Shield.)

EDIT: I see Guy as a Fearless Warrior.

Definitely not a fan of putting markers on the board. If I can't throw grenade markers at spaces, I don't see why I should be putting batteries on the battlefield.
