The Book of Beast Boy C3G DC WAVE 15 _________________________________________________________________REMEMBER THE TITANS http://heroscapers.com/c3g/released/...tBoy_comic.png Comic PDF http://heroscapers.com/c3g/released/...stBoy_mini.png Mini PDF The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the DC 75th Anniversary set. Its model number and name are #014 / Beast Boy. Character Bio - “As a child, Garfield contracts a rare illness called Sakutia by being bitten by a green monkey, but then is saved by his parents, who use an untested serum on him. This serum has the unintended effect of turning his skin and hair green and granting him the ability to metamorph into any animal of his choice. His parents later died in a boating accident, which, to this day, Garfield believes he could have prevented. After he is saved from two kidnappers that beat him and forced him to use his powers to help them in their crimes, Garfield is left under the care of a court-appointed guardian, the despicable Nicholas Galtry. As young Gar enters his teens, Galtry realizes that his embezzlement from the estate would be exposed when the lad reaches maturity and takes control of his inheritance, so he plots to kill the youngster. The various villains he hires to kill young Gar are impeded by the Doom Patrol, whose member Rita and her husband, DP associate Steve Dayton, eventually expose his embezzling to the courts and adopt Garfield themselves. In the interim, he allies himself with the superhero team, wearing one of their uniforms (with the addition of a full-head purple mask, bearing a black—and sometimes yellow swath across the middle of the face, to conceal his true identity) and taking the name Beast Boy [….]He later uses both his lime green skin and shape-shifting powers to play an extraterrestrial character on a science-fiction television series, Space Trek: 2020, but it is soon cancelled due to lawsuits from both Star Trek and Space: 1999. During its run, Gar joins the West Coast team of the Teen Titans (known as Titans West), and is later part of the New Teen Titans assembled by Raven,” (Wikipedia.org, 2012). _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

Re: The Book of Beast Boy - Design
NAME = BEAST BOY
SECRET IDENTITY = GAR LOGAN SPECIES = METAHUMAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = TITAN PERSONALITY = MISCHIEVOUS SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 5 MOVE = 6 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 3 DEFENSE = 3 POINTS = 60 BEAST FORMS You may draft this figure into the same army with any other Gar Logan figures that do not have the species of Metahuman. Start the game with this figure on the battlefield. Only one of your Gar Logan figures can be on the battlefield at a time. If another Gar Logan you control would be destroyed or would receive enough wounds to be destroyed, instead place two Wound Markers on this card and immediately replace the Gar Logan you control with another Gar Logan in your army, if possible. If this Gar Logan is destroyed, all Gar Logan figures in your army are destroyed. BEAST TRANSFORMATION Instead of taking a turn with a Gar Logan you control, you may switch it with another Gar Logan figure in your army and take a turn with the other Gar Logan. Switched figures will not take any leaving engagement attacks. After revealing a numbered Order Marker on this card, you may take a turn with whichever Gar Logan you control. HEALING FACTOR After taking a turn with this Beast Boy, remove 1 Wound Marker from this Army Card.
Spoiler Alert!

Re: The Book of Beast Boy - Design
Looks good, we have seen it already though ;), so he's ready to go. :up:

Re: The Book of Beast Boy - Design
I just hope he has better comic art than his forms do. :pray:

Good. That was my only contribution at this point. :lol:

Re: The Book of Beast Boy - Design
Cool. I may have to tweak some of the ways things work slightly, or some stats slightly, depending on how he feels in playtesting, but I really don't know until I get him and some beast forms on the map.

Re: The Book of Beast Boy - Design
My only complaint is that the first power seems really wordy. Is there any way to combine the clause about transformed versions receiving wounds and being destroyed? Seems like a lot of text for pretty specific bits.

Re: The Book of Beast Boy - Design
Here's a shot at replacing this:
If another Gar Logan figure you control would receive enough wounds to be destroyed, this Gar Logan figure receives those wounds instead and you must immediately replace the Gar Logan figure you control on the battlefield with another Gar Logan figure you control, if possible. If another Gar Logan figure you control would be destroyed without receiving wounds before this figure is destroyed, instead you must place two Wound Markers on this card. With this: If another Gar Logan figure you control would be destroyed, instead place two Wound Markers on this card and immediately replace the Gar Logan figure you control on the battlefield with another Gar Logan figure you control, if possible. Pretty much just trim a lot of the excess. Making it always two wounds might nerf him a bit, and it might end up leaving stray Wound Markers on other animal versions, but I think it reads a lot cleaner. BEAST FORMS You may draft this figure into the same army with any other Gar Logan figures that do not have the species of Metahuman. Start the game with this figure on the battlefield. You can only control one Gar Logan figure on the battlefield at a time. If another Gar Logan figure you control would be destroyed, instead place two Wound Markers on this card and immediately replace the Gar Logan figure you control on the battlefield with another Gar Logan figure you control, if possible. If this figure is destroyed, all Gar Logan figures you control are destroyed. Also, is the last line really needed? The figures would be "lost in limbo" anyways if he's destroyed. |
Re: The Book of Beast Boy - Design
The last line is needed, IMO, yes. Thanks to this card existing, when other figures were destroyed, they could still be switched on the battlefield for each other when, thematically, Beast Boy is dead at that point.
