FFG X-Wing Cardboard Star Destroyer Battlefield

I've been working on a 3D Star Destroyer/Imperial Cruiser Play Mat. I've obviously had to scale it down to fit on a table. The ship is about 75.5" x 47" (scale 517m x 322m).

How do you handle the "moving onto different elevations" part?

Is that an overhead projector? I haven't seen those things in like 15 years...

Pretty funny. I actually rented it! They are really good at blowing things up in size.

...personnally... I prefer hand-grenades for "blowing things up," (lol) but I digress

Pete, your creations are always amazing. I can't wait to see it up up close on the 17th.

Amazing! The Death Star you did was also amazing!

I've got X-Wing on the way from CoolStuffInc - yay Christmas money! How big a learning curve is there for this game? My son will be 9 in January. Do you think it will be hard for him to pick up?

The game is very easy to pick up. 9 should be easy enough. You both will kick yourself for running into each other but we all do it. I would suggest getting two core sets right out of the gate.

Thanks!
I've got one core set and the X-Wing, Y-Wing, TIE Fighter, and TIE Advanced expansions coming. Hopefully that will keep us busy for a while.

THEN... you'll just need some extra dice, WHICH would come in another Core / Starter Set in addition to 3 more ships and all those handy cardboard things. The Starter Sets are a good deal for all that you get (3 for $40 vs. 1 for $15), especially if you can find them on sale for $25 or $30; and they are available at Target stores.
