Bring 2 - Heat and Insanity
  • For this event, each player will bring two 575-point armies with no more than 20 figures*. There is no hex limit for this event. The two armies cannot share any figures. These will be the two armies you bring to every game. (C3V/SoV eligible, no Marvel.)
  • Before each game, there will be a roll-off, done by the tournament organizers. One of the players will decide whether to choose armies first or second. The other player will decide whether to begin placing armies first or second.
  • Whoever has first army choice may choose any of the four armies (either of their two or either of their opponent's two). The other player may then choose from any of the other three armies.
  • The player who places second automatically wins initiative in the first round.
  • The rounds will alternate between Heat of Battle and Insanity of Battle. See placement rules below.
Heat of Battle rules:
  • After both armies are chosen, the players will take turns placing a card's worth of figures on the map.
  • Figures may not be placed on glyphs or adjacent to opponent's figures.
  • When placing squads, each squad figure placed that turn must be within three clear sight spaces of all other squad figures placed that turn.
Insanity of Battle rules:
  • If you choose to play an army that has more than 20 figures, you decide which figures will not be placed when choosing that army.
  • After both armies are chosen, the players will take turns placing a card's worth of figures (yours OR your opponent's) on the map.
  • You may not place figures on glyphs, adjacent to enemy figures, or on molten lava.
  • When placing squads, each squad figure placed that turn must be within three clear sight spaces of all other squad figures placed that turn.
*An army can contain more than 20 figures, however only 20 figures may be placed on the battlefield each game. Airborne Elite and Rechets of Bogdan count toward these limits, as usual. Double-spaced figures only count as a single figure.

The regular season will last four weeks, with one game each week. After the regular season ends there will be a single elimination bracket for the top finishers.

Are the figures from C3V Wave 22 Pack 1 and the C3V Special Release allowed for this event?

Scroll down on the army selection doc and you'll find your answer hidden among all your choices ;p

I like how 'heat of battle' was taken so literally with all lava maps :)

Clarification question - does the presence of the bottom bullet only under 'insanity of battle' mean that for 'heat of battle' you not have to announce which figures you are sitting from the army until you place your 20th figure?

Asking because it's very clearly spelled out for insanity but not mentioned in heat.

Yes, that's correct, you don't have to pre-declare what you are sitting in Heat of Battle.

Can you optionally declare which figures you are sitting mid-placement in heat of battle, even if you have the available figures left?

Here's the example I'm thinking of:
I have 16 figures placed on the map and 1 set of Romans & MBS left to place. I want to place the romans before MBS to get better board control, but I want MBS in my army so I'd like to place 3 romans (announcing to sit 1 early), then MBS on the next move. Is that allowed, or would I have to place MBS before the 3 romans?

Don't expect this issue to arise often but it's possible.

Yes, you can place 3 romans. Once you do that the fourth cannot be placed.

I just wanted to point out that the OP says 575 point armies but the Google Form says 615. I went with 575 for my registration, but whichever one is correct, the other should probably be changed.

~KoS, looking forward to trying out some new units this season
