Character Bio - As head of H.A.M.M.E.R. and the Thunderbolts Initiative, Norman Osborn sought to keep a firm hold on America's superhero community. Chief among his goals was forming his own Avengers. Drawing on his experience with the Thunderbolts, he knew a team composed of "reformed" villains masquerading as heroes, would need a leader, both on the ground and as a public face. Drawing on the dual iconographies of Iron Man and Captain America, Osborn donned stolen Stark Industry technology - and Iron Patriot was born!

  A: No, the phrase "other than this card" applies to both "Order Markers placed" and "Army Cards you control." You cannot move Order Markers off of or onto Iron Patriot's card.

• if you lose initiative, the player who won initiative may rearrange any Order Markers placed on Army Cards you control other than this card. That player may never reveal an Order Marker when using Chaotic Leadership.

When Iron Patriot attacks, he may attack one additional time.

MASTER MOTIVATOR
After taking a turn with Iron Patriot, if he inflicted one or more wounds with his normal attack this turn, you may take an immediate turn with any other Unique Hero you control within clear sight of Iron Patriot, and you may not take any additional turns with other figures you control.

Very much design by committee. I like his basic stats as Iron Man Lite, basically, with Master Motivator to represent his personal involvement in leading the Dark Avengers and Chaotic Leadership to show what can go wrong when he gives his team slack.

Willing to discuss the Leadership power; it feel sort of "odd" to me but I think it'd be interesting to see how it plays.

Don't really know the character apart from who he is, but all looks fine. You might need to specify that the person moving the OMs is or isn't allowed to look at them. But then I can't remember if we did that for other OM shufflers.

We did not allow the OMs of others to be looked at, only moved.

Yeah, we'd want to get an "at random" in the verbiage, I think, to show they can't look at them.

He works well enough. Lacks a little "wow" factor, but I don't know the character well enough to know how to get any there. :shrug:

I agree, to an extent; I think he'll play a lot more interesting than he reads. Out of Suit Norman is probably going to be a much more interesting design; Iron Patriot is pretty much just a poor man's Iron Man and a poor man's Cap in one.

Fair enough. :-) I almost wonder if we shouldn't go 6 defense here .... but I understand that with the life of 5, that'd probably be tougher than we want.

The initial will show if his leadership power is too crazy or not. Actually, it's really only a negative power, since it's the beginning of the round, so you really shouldn't place them and move them immediately without anything happening in the round. Maybe switch it (somehow?) to during the round at some point, so the player controlling him could potentially benefit?

Looks cool Johnny. As has been mentioned, the leadership power will shine in army tests. There may be some need for extra public testing in that this power could lead to some swingy results based on army builds. It may end up having to only have 1 OM available to move if it gets too wonky. Otherwise he might be limited to the teammates he can work well with as nobody's going to want all their OM's dumped on a chumpy unit. Though with Master Motivator, it will encourage him to have OM's on his card.

Okay, that was enough mindless rambling. We'll just have to see how the testing goes. :)

While I'm in the process of waiting, does anyone have pictures of the mini or should I put out the call in the public alongside Ryu?
