Re: The Book of Rogues Revolution Scenario (Breaking Out)
NAME = ROGUES REVOLUTION
STORY CARD POINTS = 250 STORY REQUIREMENTS = - At least one figure with the Speed Force or Superspeed special power in your army. - At least one figure that is a Rogue in an opponent's army. STORY SETUP = All Unique Heroes with the Speed Force or Superspeed special powers in your army are considered Speedsters. STORY RULES = BACK IN A FLASH After a Speedster you control destroys an opponent's Unique Rogue Hero, you may immediately place that Speedster on an empty space in your start zone. If you do, remove a Wound Marker from its Army Card. Back In A Flash may not be used by the same figure more than once per round. RAPID ROTATION Before a Speedster you control moves normally or with the Speed Dodge special power, you may choose an opponent’s figure adjacent to that figure, or two figures if one of them is a Rogue Hero. Immediately place the chosen figures up to two spaces from their original placement. Placed figures will not take leaving engagement attacks but will take any falling damage that applies. SPEED FORCE CONNECTION Once per round, after revealing a numbered Order Marker and before taking a turn with a figure you control, you may reveal an "X" Order Marker on a Speedster you control to take an immediate turn with any Speedster you control. You may not take additional turns with figures you control after using Speed Force Connection. |
Re: The Book of Rogues Revolution Scenario (Breaking Out)
Alright, let's roll and see how this plays out. So you're essentially creating a Pseudo-scenario here of Flash vs Rogues. I'm thinking we can have a spot in the OP that shares the base army build as well. Initial will focus on that core build with a little branching out (once we get to that phase)

Big fan. Also love that comic cover. Have it framed at my parents house.

Re: The Book of Rogues Revolution Scenario (Breaking Out)
Yeah, it'd probably be tough to ever take these in a tourney setting, but for casual play a counterdraft scenario when the stars align is a neat idea.

Re: The Book of Rogues Revolution Scenario (Breaking Out)
Yeah, this is very similar mechanically to the old classicscape scenarios where you could draft armies. Basically just that, but one team is at a 250 point defecit, yet gains some special powers.

Re: The Book of Rogues Revolution Scenario (Breaking Out)
Can you explain Back to Lockup? Not really understanding the theme/how it works exactly. The rest seems fine.
I'm not sure the silver border is really necessary if these are essentially just adding new abilities to certain figures or things that happen if something specific happens. As long as it's costed correctly, it should just be a way to add more to the figures you do draft etc. in the same vein as spells or DOs. |

Some had some opposition to feeling like these would be yet another thing to be designed around, so helping avoid that was literally all the thought was. |
Re: The Book of Rogues Revolution Scenario (Breaking Out)
I do see the concern with making sure future speedster designs don't break anything here - it's not like it's a super uncommon power, as I expect we'll be using it a lot in the future. But like, if it's part of C3G it's part of C3G, and if it breaks one part of it (even a "use with care" part) that's still bad form on our part. In for a penny, in for a pound.
Looks fine to me as-is, obviously you can do a million things here, so it's really down to how it feels to play and if you end up feeling it's impactful enough. |
Re: The Book of Rogues Revolution Scenario (Breaking Out)
For future proofing, should the Scenario Conditions specify Unique Heroes? I could see adding these powers onto an Event Hero Speedster or a squad of Speedsters being more troublesome.
